Though it doesn't offer anything beyond basics, the Sony Cyber-shot DSC-S2100 is a decent AA-battery-powered entry-level compact.

The Sony Cyber-shot S2100's "S" should stand for "simplicity." The 12.1-megapixel S2100 has been designed to meet the needs of a beginning photographer with basic exposure controls in program mode and few controls in "Easy" mode.

Great images in bright light ; Fair performance indoors ; Easy mode great for amateur photographers

Noise at ISO 400 ; Digital image stabilization only ; Buttons are too small

I imagine that someone considering the S2100 wants an affordable camera for casual shooting situations, like vacations or gatherings with friends and family. An ideal camera would be a breeze to use and capture great images in many settings, and cost...

The batteries are unusable very quickly. 1.46 volts won't work. The batteries are still usable in another device. Not happy about this ; Usually digital cameras put pics in new folder each day and this camera does not

I have it now, so I'm going to keep it. It was a quick purchase before a trip to Roatan... it works, but I've had better.

Small, orange, easy features.... easy to download...

The batteries die very very quickly. The pictures tend to be a tad fuzzy/soft.

This camera is a very good buy. I got mine at Target for 89 dollars plus tax. This camera is very easy to figure out and use. Picture quality is good under normal lighting conditions but shooting video in low light is not so good. Only 3x zoom, so be...
