Fujifilm FinePix Z10fd (Blue)

Any time an electronics manufacturer creates a product targeted at teenagers, I start to worry. Too often, it means a poorly performing product with a slick design and an inflated price tag. Fujifilm's new FinePix Z10fd, which is intended for the...

Cute compact design; face detection; reasonable price.

Heavy lens distortion; so-so image quality; slow performance.

Fuji's FinePix Z10fd might be the cutest sub-$200 snapshooter out there, but you can get better image quality from some other similarly priced cameras.

10 Ultra

The Fuji FinePix Z10fd ($199.95), designed to appeal to the style conscious, snaps satisfactory shots when compared with other cameras in the pocket category. But many of this 7.2-megapixel slider cam's features seem more gimmicky than gotta-have....

Eye-catching design. Wide variety of shooting modes. Speedy performance.

Mediocre image quality. Gimmicky features.

The Fuji FinePix Z10fd is a snazzy-looking camera designed for casual, style-conscious shutterbugs. It's a fast performer, but its image quality isn't impressive.

Fujifilm FinePix Z10fd Review

The Fujifilm FinePix Z10fd enters the ultra-compact market in a unique position, offering the features and style of a super-thin camera at a lower price than most competitive models.

Ease of use Little to no shutter lag Bold styling

Soft, sub-par image quality Inconsistent metering Red-eye issues Some all-around cheapness

The Z10 can use either the proprietary xD-Picture Card memory format, or more conventional SD/SDHC cards. Image files are saved as JPEGs, and movies as AVIs. The FinePix offers 25 MB of internal memory; a 1 GB card will hold nearly 300 highest-res,...

"It is an okay camera."

All together the camera is probably not a good camera to buy. The colors are fun and it is easy to use, but it just does not last and breaks within on drop or even a bump. I haven't even had the camera for a year. I would say it is not worth the money....

The camera is easy to use and it is great for biginner photographer with fun colors to make it unique.

It is not durable at all. I dropped it of a a 2 1/2 table and broke. The screen didn't work and didn't show pictures. My cousin had the exact same camera and dropped it and now the screen doesn't work as well and the slide is dented as made of foil.

"Good camera for what it is"

I love the camera, but I wouldn't spend more than $150 for it. I bought mine on sale for $120. Good value.

Dead simple.

A little slow between shots, especially with flash.
