Fujifilm FinePix F480

The FinePix F480 also features Picture Stabilization mode to reduce blurry images that can be caused by camera shake or subject movement. This mode automatically chooses the correct light sensitivity and best- matching shutter speed, allowing users to...

Like many of Fuji's 2007 models, the FinePix F480 features an xD/SD Compatible memory card slot which accepts not only Fujifilm's traditional xD-Picture Cards but also Secure Digital (SD) cards

Fujifilm FinePix F480 digital camera Review and Prices

For a digital camera in its price range, the FinePix F480 from Fujifilm offers a surprising number of interesting features. It's far from a perfect camera, but for the price, it is easy to use and yields good photos in most situations.

Great value, thin camera body, easy to use, limited wide-angle capabilities, outdoor photo quality is good, sharp LCD

Indoor photo quality is sometimes below average, response times are below average, extremely large prints could have stray noise

Fujifilm FinePix F480 Zoom

Do not waste your money. I bought this camera as a carry everywhere/everyday cheap backup to my nikon D300 SLR. I choose this Fujifilm amongst all the others in the 100 to 150 euros range because it was the only one to offer a true wideangle lens...

Image Quality is maybe the worst I have ever seen from a digital camera ; Slow processor: erasing pictures takes ages ; Video mode is sub par: only 320x240 resolution

Fujifilm FinePix F480 Zoom

Just bought this as a back up for my DSLR's, and find for the price for it to be just fine, other folks negative reviews of this camera are warranted, but for the price of just over $100 as of July '08, it's a perfect addition to my camera bag.

Fujifilm FinePix F480 Zoom

I've been using this camera for 5 months now. Picture quality is quite ok for a compact model, i bought it especially for the wide angle, as a second camera for indoor shots/parties, globally events where i dont want to carry my SLR. For outdoor...

small battery lock in the card/battery compartment useless, it doesnt stay in place: you open the trap to access the card, and the battery pops out. not very convinient and quite annoying ; A few freezes sometimes

Fujifilm FinePix F480 Zoom

I bought this as a companion camera so I didn't have to carry my big S9500 bushwalking and to parties etc. I wasn't expecting it to be fabulous just a nice compact entry level camera that took good photos. Unfortunately even in ideal conditions 100...

Cant see through the LCD outdoors ; Have knocked the selector dial a couple of times ; Interesting noise and soft fuzzy photos even in good light

Owners Opinion: Fujifilm FinePix F480 Zoom (Honzislav, 6 Jan 08)

I bought Fuji F480 as present for my girlfriend, she is the beginner in photography. Fuji F480 have all required features: 28 mm wide angle, No P,S,A,M mode as it is counterproductive for beginner, excelent luminosity. Problem is ISO set up (in "M"...

Owners Opinion: Fujifilm FinePix F480 Zoom (dos ojos, 2 Jan 08)

I use this as a carry everywhere camera for my real estate work. It's smaller than any 35mm camera I ever had. It's bigger than the minox I don't use anymore, but the quality is a lot better. I need a 28mm wide angle for good interior picutres. I post...

It takes a long time to delete pictures. Shutter lag is too long unless you use the sports function

I have a Powershot A95 Canon and I got the F-480 as Christmas present. I'm very disappointed for its performance. Very poor image quality, noise up to 200, weak flash, exposure controll non-existent. The only tolerable pictures are at 100 ISO bright...

Product Specifications

With the same metal body as its pricier F series range-mates and versatile 4x wide-angle (28-112mm) zoom, the FinePix F480 is perfect for those people looking for an easy-to-use all-rounder that offers a quality feature set at an affordable price. No bigger than a deck of playing cards (just 23mm thick), the FinePix F480 boasts good looks and compact proportions to match its superb performance. Simplicity of design means it's incredibly easy to operate and a handy mode dial gives fast access to popular features such as the camera's Anti-blur setting, which helps keep images sharp when shooting moving subjects. The camera's large 2.7", high resolution (230,000 pixels) LCD, with anti-glare coating, makes framing and reviewing images a pleasure, even in bright sunlight. The FinePix F480's 10 pre-programmed scene modes ensure even beginners in photography can get great shots in a range of shooting conditions. Its 4x optical zoom has been designed by Fujifilm's specialist lens division, Fujinon, to ensure images delivered to the camera's sensor are pin sharp. Furthermore, the lens' 28-112mm wide-angle capability makes the FinePix F480 suited to a vast range of shooting situations - it really is a constant companion for snap-happy users who want superior photos without the price tag to match. ISO 1000 light sensitivity ensures natural-looking photos can be achieved, even in low light, and without need for flash. The FinePix F480 is supplied with a rechargeable lithium-ion battery, rarely found in cameras at entry-level price point, making it even more economical as there is no need for investment in new batteries. Furthermore, the FinePix F480 also features dual compatibility for both xD-Picture Card and Secure Digital memory card formats so that consumers upgrading from a different brand camera will not necessarily need to purchase a new memory card. To further enhance its ease of use, the FinePix F480 also features Fujifilm's recently redesigned Graphical User Interface (GUI). When users switch shooting modes, scene positions, or control settings the camera displays a brief explanation of the feature on the LCD screen, taking much of the guesswork out of camera operation. The menu system itself is icon-based, making operation incredibly straightforward.
