Fujifilm FinePix XP200 Preview

Fujifilm's FinePix XP-series has a new model for 2013. Meet the XP200, waterproof down to 50 feet, shockproof up to 6.6 feet, dustproof, and freezeproof down to 14°F. With an improved 16 megapixel CMOS sensor, a 3.0-inch LCD display with anti-glare...

Fujifilm's top-tier tough cam has brawn but lacks brains.

Of all of the tough cams we've seen this year, the XP200 was the least desirable. Even though it rings in at under $300, you're a stone's throw (roughly $75) away from the best all-round tough cam, the Olympus TG-2. Your $75 nets you much better image...

Spontaneous erasure

I had several videos of a whitewater raft trip. They looked real good when I played back thru the camera, but later when I went to look at them, all gone. Might've happened when I plugged in to recharge, I don't know, but what a huge disappointment....

waterproof one button video

loss of priceless photos can it get any worse

Close but not quite....

I backpack quite a bit and got tired of conventional compact cameras getting scratched--usually by the automatic lens cover being pushed against the lens while in my pack. This camera has a lot of desirable features--waterproof, highly shock resistant,...

waterproof, shock resistant, no exposed moving lens parts

subject to glare due chrome lens bezel, very average photo quality, lens window subject to scratching
