Panasonic Lumix DMC-FT2

When it comes to all weather cameras there aren't too many to choose from but there are some pretty good and swanky models. For instance the recently reviewed Olympus Tough-3000 proved to be a versatile little camera and the Panasonic DMC-FT2 promises...

The Panasonic DMC-FT2 is a very good all round camera and doesn’t leave you high and dry in the performance front. Picture captured appear rich and vibrant which in comparison is much better than most other similar products. The ability to capture...

Panasonic Lumix DMC-TS2 Digital Camera Review

Many tough cameras sacrifice image quality for robustness, but the TS2 seems to have the best of both worlds, shooting good looking photos and standing up to rough treatment.

Panasonic DMC-TS2

The Panasonic Lumix DMC-TS2 is a rugged, shockproof, waterproof, and dustproof digital camera with a sensor resolution of 14-megapixels, with a useful 28-128mm zoom range. The Panasonic TS2 has a 2.7-inch LCD with 230,000-dots of resolution. The...

Waterproof to 10 meters (33 feet!) ; Shockproof from 2 meters (6.6 feet) ; Dustproof ; Freezeproof ; 720p AVCHD Lite movie mode (as well as Motion JPEG modes) ; Dedicated movie button ; HDMI output ; Wide-angle 4.6x zoom lens with effective optical...

Detail is somewhat soft, even at low ISOs ; Lens has low contrast and flare at telephoto ; Slightly higher than average pincushion distortion at telephoto ; No optical viewfinder ; Flash is easy to cover accidentally ; Flash is very weak ; Higher...

Flash: Our manufacturer-specified testing (shown at right) shows dim results at the specified wide-angle distance of 16.7 feet or 5.1 meters, even though the camera increased ISO to 400. The image at full telephoto was slightly brighter, though still...

Best waterproof digital camera

The rugged Panasonic Lumix DMC-TS2 (also called the DMC-FT2 in some regions) is critics' favorite waterproof camera. You can dive with it, ski with it, bring it to the beach or drop it on the pavement, and the Panasonic keeps on ticking....

Waterproof up to 33 feet, weatherproof to 14 degrees Fahrenheit, shockproof to 6.6 feet, dustproof, good image quality, superb HD video, with optical zoom

Expensive, no lens cover, no viewfinder, some users report leakage

Panasonic Lumix DMC-TS2

The Panasonic DMC-TS camera has been great so far, the camera feels solid in your hand. The image quality is very good and excellent when taking pictures in the dark (night scenery). I wanted a camera where I could take HD videos as well and I was...

You need to remove the silicon case every time you want to take out the memory card or put it with a tripod ; LCD image is not so good but you forget about it when you see the output of images

Panasonic Lumix DMC-TS2

The Lumix dmc-TS2 can go where most cameras come to a full stop: underwater. It is designed to face the elements because it is ruggedized from shock, water(33ft.),snow and rain. It is designed for travel, sports as well as ordinary activities when the...

A rattling or knocking noise is present (when the camera is off) when shaken. The noise sounds like a plastic material not metallic. It could be a plastic dumper to avoid the lens from getting misaligned when dropped(acc. to one of the reviews). You...

Great waterproof camera!

We bought this camera for our honeymoon in Thailand. This was our first "rugged" camera as I wanted to be able to take some snorkeling pics. Comes with a nice silicon case which is a plus. Underwater shots in both a swimming pool and the ocean came out...

Works perfectly underwater or even low-light night shots

Might have been user error so no egg lost, but we almost lost a good amount photos because of a save error after taking a shot. Had to buy photo recovery software to get the photos back
