The 8.1 megapixel Nikon Coolpix P3 has a very impressive 2.5 inch LCD and a 3.5x optical zoom.

Awesome LCD ; Well controlled noise ; Vibration Reduction very effective ; Easy to access settings ; 10 steps of aperture control

Easy to block the flash with your finger ; In order to set the amount of information on the display, you have to dig into the setup menu ; Battery life is uninspiring

The Nikon Coolpix P3 is a high-quality 8 megapixel camera targeted at the photographer who wants a bit more control over their shots. Its sister, the Coolpix P4, is identical except that it doesn't have WiFi capability.

I have owned it 12 months, 3500 shots. Easy to carry, easy to use, good photos, quite good even without flash in lowish light. Reasonably rugged. Excellent camera for point n shoot.
