Nikon Coolpix 2500

The Nikon Coolpix 2500 was announced on 21st February 2002 as a part of Nikon's new offerings at the PMA 2002 show. The 2500 marks a stylish design departure from the 775 and 885 but also brings familiar echoes of the split & twist bodied Coolpix 900,...

Excellent colour, good white balance in most situations ; Good shadow detail (internal processing tends to push the black point up a little) ; Metering very good (thanks to Nikon's Matrix metering) ; Smooth clean images ; Compact size, attractive...

Relatively slow lens (although similar to most ultra-compacts) ; Poor low-light auto focus (plus no AF assist lamp) ; Average resolution performance ; Barrel distortion at wide angle ; Can't manually select ISO sensitivity ; No video out ; Strange...

The Coolpix 2500 takes the now familiar split / twist body Coolpix design and improves it. The new surround style design now ensures that the lens is protected when the camera isn't in use and that the rotating portion (lens, flash, CCD) has a swivel...

nikon coolpix 2500

The Coolpix 2500 employs a unique, inner-swiveling 3x 37-111mm (35mm equivalent) Zoom- Nikkor lens that can even be turned around 180¡ã for self-portraits. The stylish and ultra-compact body measures a mere 4.5 x 2.3 x 1.2 inches and weighs only six...

With a suggested retail price of just $379.95 the Coolpix 2500 is going to find its way into the hands of many novice and expert users. The only thing you really need to buy is a larger CF card, everything else including the rechargeable battery, charger

Nikon Coolpix 2500

The Nikon Coolpix 2500 proves itself as a high-quality, low-cost digital camera. This affordable 2.0-megapixel marvel (a high enough resolution for quality 4-by-6 prints) includes a swivel lens that cleverly hides away a 3X optical zoom. Cool features...

Three Small 2 Megapixel Cameras - PowerShot S330 / DiMAGE X / Coolpix 2500

The three cameras I'm looking at here are all 2 Megapixel cameras with 3X optical zooms. All of them are small and stylish, and two of them are really quite unique. I will cover each camera in several areas, pick a a winner in each area, and than an...

The only real thing to comment on is the rather skimpy 8MB CompactFlash card. I would have liked to see something larger, considering just how cheap CF cards are these days. I'd recommend at least a 32MB card

Nikon Coolpix 2500: Handy 2-Megapixel Point-and-Shoot with Cool Design

Articles, reviews, tips, tutorials, and resources on graphic design and photography software and hardware, including Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator, and QuarkXPress. CreativePro.com has been giving creative professionals free information, education,...

Like other point-and-shoot cameras, the Coolpix has a tiny front flash mounted right next to the lens. This typically results in indoor portraits with very unflattering front lighting, and vampirish redeye; the alternative is to use the redeye flash...

Digital Cameras - Nikon Coolpix 2500 Digital Camera Review, Information, Specifications

In the last year or so, Nikon has been moving to address the digital picture-taking needs of "ordinary people," rather than just focusing on the "enthusiast" crowd. Cameras like the Coolpix 885 and 775 have incorporated "Scene" modes that set up the...

The latest extension of this philosophy is the new Coolpix 2500, the subject of this review. Here, Nikon has not only addressed the features novices need, with one of the most extensive sets of scene modes in the industry, but they've now addressed the...

HardwareCentral - Nikon Coolpix 2500 Review.

The 2500 uses a flat lithium-ion battery (part number EN-EL2, smaller than the EN-EL1 of the Coolpix 775 and 5000) that recharges in two to three hours. We averaged a reasonable 90 minutes' shooting, reviewing, and uploading per charge (with, remember,...
