Nikon Coolpix 7600

Compact; solid picture quality; helpful features for beginners.

Lacks some useful basics, such as manual ISO settings; sluggish flash recycle; inconsistent low-light autofocus.

Despite a few flaws, this is a good digital camera for starter snapshooters who crave simplicity and a helping hand but don't want to sacrifice picture quality.

The Nikon Coolpix 7600 combines state-of-the-art technology, image quality and speed, and delivers it to consumers at a very affordable price. This compact camera features a 7.1-megapixel imager, 3x optical zoom with an exceptionally high quality...

Bottom line - the Nikon Coolpix 7600 is an affordable ultra-compact digicam that offers users great image quality with an abundance of exposure options. The only annoyance I found was when using the flash. After you capture an image, the camera "locks up"

Digital Cameras - Nikon Coolpix 7600 Digital Camera Review, Information, Specifications

Nikon's Coolpix line of consumer digicams has always been well-received, appreciated for their image quality and ease of use. The Coolpix 7600 continues that trend, with a 7.1-megapixel CCD and nice range of preset scene modes. The Nikon Coolpix 7600...

High saturation on bright colors, and slightly ruddy skin tones, but pleasing color overall, Good lens, good sharpness in corners of images, Excellent macro capability, Manual white balance option handles a very wide range of lighting conditions, Good...

Limited low-light exposure capability, Flash isn't usable at minimum macro distances, Auto white balance leaves too much color cast in shots under household incandescent lighting, Ships with only 14MB internal memory, definitely need to buy a large SD...

Nikon Coolpix 7600

My kid and I dropped the camera many times to the ground. I thought it died but it survived every time. Amazing construction! Very easy to use, no need to read manual. The features/IQ were good in 2005 but not anymore in 2008.

Slow ; Much slower than my new FZ18 but much faster than my old HP Powersmart 433

"Often disappointing in low-light situations; otherwise a solid camera"

This is a very solid camera if the shooter is taking pictures outdoors. The picture quality is stunning, and there's little lag.

The many preset shooting modes are effective and helpful. The controls are easy, and in well-lit situations the picture clarity is perfect.

Taking pictures inside almost always results in a blurry photo. Often flash is not an option, as it ruins the subject. Infact, taking a clear picture indoors is often impossible.

good IMAGE. This camera is unique. It has a learning curve because in low light and everywhere else you must hold this still. I have compared this image with practially all small cameras and this beats allot if you like pain and align it up as still as...

slow low light but if your a tickler for image and like to see how far you can go to get a great image this is it. When its aligned straight this is very good The resolution seems to default exactly at angle you take the shot. If you zoom in you lose...
