Superb picture quality, rotating lens with optical viewfinder, multioption manual mode

Nikon Coolpix 900

The Coolpix 900 also has an optical viewfinder which is something that is lacking in the ePhoto1280 design. Granted it isn't the greatest optical viewfinder I've ever used but it is there and it is useable.

Digital Cameras Review - Nikon CoolPix 900 Digital Camera - Information, Specifications

The Nikon CoolPix 900 sets a new benchmark for functionality and picture-taking flexibility in the under-$1,000 category. In fact, relative to even more expensive cameras we've tested in the past, about all it could be said to lack is through-the-lens...

Excellent dc - I have used my CP 900 for two years. Picture quality is great! I really have enjoyed taking pictures and sharing them with friends. Also love to impress people with NIKON name.

Batteries never lasted long enough - but over came problem by getting a battery power pack - Now I never run out of power - Power pack is $$ but overall worth it - pays for self. Also do have problem with Zoom not responding sometimes, until I keep...

I have had this camera for 3 years now. I use it to shoot virtual tours of real estate for real estate agents. Its made it money back 100 fold.

When changing batteries I have to reset all of the setting. I think there must be an internal battery that has gone bad that should hold my setting while I change batteries

Used this as my only camera for 3 years with good results almost all of the time. Took it on 3 week trips (with extra set of batteries and a charger) and ended up with 100 very good pictures. Camera was always an interest catcher. Last trip used...

Battery life is a problem. Even sitting in the unused camera they drain. Flash shouldn't be counted on for anything over 6 or 8 feet

Owners Opinion: Nikon Coolpix 900 (Chan Mainor, 7 Nov 01)

This was my first "real" digital camera, a friend of mine sold it to me cheap to upgrade to the 995. Compared to the countless dc's I've used at work, the CP900 produced some of the best images to date, esp. in low-light situations, such as parties or...

While convenient, the swivel posed to be a fatal flaw for my 900

i fell in love with this camera, picture quality is absolutely fantastic, brightness was amazing easy to use

had two replacement cameras, nikon not very quick at repairing. Main problem, batteries died within seconds whether brand new or rechargable. At the end of the day i am very sad as this camera is wonderful and takes fantastic pictures, now am...

Owned for 3 years - ups and downs. Construction problems over time became a pain. The pictures always under exposed in bright light under all settings. I had to force over exposure in manual mode. Colors would be too flat in shots with bright colors. ...

The body fell apart at the 11 month mark (the halves separated) but still under warrenty then and repaired promptly. Developed a problem where it wouldn't turn on at random (not related to battery strength) which got worse and more frustrating. Then...

Owners Opinion: Nikon Coolpix 900 (Phil Dame, 29 Jun 01)

The 900 was and still is my first digital camera. Being a graphic artist, I enjoyed the picture quality delivered by the Nikon which in its day rivaled most others on the market (within its price range). The ability to add wide angle and fish-eye...

The complexity of the camera was a distraction at times and made it difficult to share with others even to simply take a group shot with myself included ; The timeout to auto-shut off was set at 30s which was too fast. The option to extend the time...
