don't do it!

I had an L18 and it died after 15,000 pics. I bought the L22 thinking it would be a good replacement. I am disappointed for sure. The photo quality is generally blurry and if you don't select the right 'type' of pic you are about to shoot (portrait, landscape...) , well, the results will be...blurry, and have the incorrect lighting! And 'lag' is just as bad as the L18 :/

Nice Body Color

Short battery life, Poor image quality, Poor image stabilization

Nikon Coolpix L22 (Black)

Looking at the 12-megapixel Nikon Coolpix L22, you can understand why someone would buy it. It's a good-looking compact camera at a low price with three things people would be attracted to: a 3-inch LCD, AA batteries for power, and the Nikon brand. Pop...

Three-inch LCD; attractive; pleasing color in photos under the right conditions.

Mediocre lens quality; too little control over camera; poor low-light shooting performance.

The Nikon Coolpix L22 looks good for its price, but there isn't much to like below the surface.

Review: Nikon CoolPix L22

The Nikon CoolPix L22 is one of Nikon's entries to the compact budget digital camera market. But don't let the budget part fool you. While its price is indeed affordable, it comes packed with enough features that make it feel like it was a pricier camera.

Decent build quality ; 12MP image sensor produces good images ; Affordable price

LCD color doesn’t reflect true image colors

If you have a little more to spend on a budget compact digital camera, I would definitely suggest giving the L22 consideration.

Nikon Coolpix L22

The Nikon Coolpix L22 is a 12-megapixels, budget-friendly compact camera that is powered by 2 AA batteries. Nikon's target for the L22 is clearly a casual snapshooter who isn't really interested in thinking about photography. It's basic. It's simple....

The Nikon L22 is a camera that will work for people who really don’t want to interact with their cameras. It’s basic. You point and shoot, and then let the camera decide what it wants to do. Usually, you’ll get decent results; however, it doesn’t offer...

Nikon COOLPIX L22

The Nikon COOLPIX L22 is a budget compact with a 12 Megapixel CCD sensor, 3in screen and 3.6x optical zoom lens. Replacing the hugely popular COOLPIX L20, it's one of five COOLPIX compacts released concurrently in February 2010 ranging from budget...

Inexpensive and uncomplicated ; Excellent build quality for the money ; 3in / 230k screen ; 12 Megapixel sensor

No optical or sensor-shift stabilization ; Poor Face detection in low light ; Image quality lacking viewed at 100 ; No TV cable supplied

"Poor Quality Photos - Large Soft Areas Top and Bottom"

After 5 days of use, this is back to Nikon under warranty. After sending them photos online they told me to reset the camera which did nothing. No comment from them on original claim if this is normal. Will wait and see what they do with the camera....

Easy to use, great close ups except for very small focal point, lightweight, controls easy to use.

one fourth of top and bottom of all photos no matter the mode (program, auto, closeup, zoom) were fuzzy or soft. Landscape photos were useless. Photos had the trees with no definition to the tops and fuzzy bottoms with only the center of the trees in cl

Nikon Coolpix L22 (Red)

All in all, I love this camera. For a budget freindly camera you can't go wrong, and nikon is a name you can trust. I am fairly new to the camera world but have been surrounded by hobbyist and professional photographers my whole life. In a short word,...

Ease of use. Excellent high res quality. Great starter camera and multiple funtions that are pretty easy to understand

At the present I have no real complaints except for the fact that I with it would be able to take better manual zoom images

Very disappointed..

This camera was an impulse buy. At first it was OKAY for the price. However when it came down to actually taking photos. THIS CAMERA SUCKS. Ashton Kutcher advertised, the fact that you would have your NIKON ready for those moments when a celebrity...

Perhaps sleek design

Poor picture quality. Takes a while to adjust to the surroundings. Seldom takes a good picture at night. Garbage
