Nikon Coolpix L4

The L4's silver-plastic body is compact, light, and fairly stylish for such a low-end camera. Just less than an inch and a half thick, the L4 is a little bit too fat to slip into your jeans, but it weighs less than six ounces even with an SD card and...

Simple to use; decent images; inexpensive.

Sluggish performance; no manual ISO setting; noticeable purple fringing; subpar movie mode.

The Nikon Coolpix L4 produces solid pictures for a budget camera.

Nikon Coolpix L4

The 2-inch LCD screen. Trouble-free setup. Useful in-camera features such as Cropping and D-Lighting. Ability to view photos as thumbnails. Easy-to-use interface with Help button. Fifteen screen modes and five color-shooting options.

No viewfinder. Only 16MB of onboard memory. Can't record video with sound. Shutter lag.

The Nikon Coolpix L4 is an affordable, basic camera for beginners, with an easy-to-use interface. It shoots great photos, but it doesn't have a viewfinder and can't record sound during video shooting.

Nikon Coolpix L4 Digital Camera - Review

A little lower down on Nikon's Coolpix line, the new 4.0 megapixel L4 has the look and feel of a more expensive digital camera. The Coolpix L4 goes for $199.95, while the flagship model of the Nikon L series, the L2 sells for $249.95. The 4MP L4, which...

Nikon Coolpix L4 Review

The Nikon Coolpix L4 is a very cheap digital camera and it has the poor performance to match. It is one of the slowest cameras available. It also has a very small ISO range which cannot be controlled by the user.

Good lens sharpness, Good ergonomics, Great battery life, Built-in camera guide

High image noise, No control over ISO, Some corner softens and optical distortion, High chromatic aberrations at wide-angle

Nikon Coolpix L2 Digital Camera Review

One of threesome of new cameras added to Nikon's "Life" line, the Nikon Coolpix L2 is targeted at the photographer who wants a simple to use, compact, high quality digital camera.

Nice LCD for the price ; Very easy to use ; Nice size and shape without sacrificing stability ; Handy Nikon Exclusive Feature System ; Good battery life

Under-exposed indoor images - either increase exposure compensation or use D-Lighting after the shot ; Unimpressive macro range

If you're in the market for a simple to use, affordable camera, the Nikon Coolpix L2 is an excellent option (as are its siblings, the Coolpix L3 and Coolpix L4). The ease of use of this camera is hard to beat and it produces consistently good images....

"A pretty good camera for pics and and pics only"

I had this camera for 3 or 4 years and I still use it today. It takes decent pictures but I just don't like the way the flash is. When you press the button to take the picture you have to press it hard and have to wait a few seconds for it to actually...

Small, Lightweight, Decent Pictures in well lit areas, Easy to use

Takes forever to take the picture, flash is bad, no audio recording, takes a long time to save pic

"You get what you pay for."

Easy usage, easy to navigate.

Eats batteries, slow turn on/off, slow time in between pictures.

"Horrible quality cheap camera that doesn't work anymore"

Firstly, it is awful slow. Turning it on takes forever. Between shots, it has to recharge the flash, which also takes forever. So many times I have missed a good shot because of this. Also, the auto-focus is horrible and takes many tries before I can...
