Coolpix P2 Digital Camera

You'd be forgiven for confusing the Nikon Coolpix P2 with the Coolpix P1. Apart from the different paint job and smaller image sensor, the P2 is identical to its cousin.

Despite the P2's wireless connectivity and some advanced controls, this camera's unexceptional image quality and limited battery life fail to justify its price

Nikon Coolpix P2 Camera Review - PCWorld

Wi-Fi connectivity and a good selection of advanced features make the P2 enticing--but it's pricey and battery life is low.

Nikon Coolpix P2 WiFi digicam reviewed

The Nikon Coolpix P2 has all of the standard features you'd expect in a consumer-level compact digicam, including a 5-megapixel CCD, 640x480 30-fps movies, tons of scene presets and a 2.5-inch LCD. And at under $300, it's priced fairly competitively...

Digital Cameras - Nikon Coolpix P2 Digital Camera Review, Information, Specifications

Will WiFi-connected cameras be the next big wave in the digital camera market- Maybe... and maybe not. Regardless of whether they'll ever achieve dominance though, it's clear that we're going to see more of them appearing over the next year or two. The...

Very nice design, well-built

High contrast limits highlight and shadow detail under harsh lighting, No optical viewfinder, Somewhat short battery life, especially when WiFi is in use, WiFi could still be made simpler to configure, still too easy to end up in a blind alley, WiFi...

Portable and compact, the Nikon Coolpix P2 ranks among the smallest (albeit not the thinnest) digital cameras currently on the market. Slightly taller than a credit card (just about as wide), and a little under an inch and a half thick, the Nikon P2 is...

Nikon Coolpix P2 camera

Despite the Coolpix P2's wireless connectivity and some advanced controls, this camera's unexceptional image quality and limited battery life fail to justify its price.

Wireless image transfer and printing; some manual controls; includes assorted scene modes

Mediocre image quality; chunky build; short battery life; can’t connect to new networks within camera's interface

The P2includes an 802.11b/g wireless adapter that allows you to wirelessly transfer images to your Mac. To connect the P2 to a wireless network, you have to install and run the Nikon Wireless Camera Setup Utility, which is a pretty simple process. (You...

Nikon Coolpix P2 Digital Camera Review

First megapixels increased.

Light, but full-featured Good performance Wireless!

Odd user interface Slow cycle time between images

There are a multitude of manual controls including aperture, shutter, ISO, white balance, and auto-focus modes. Unfortunately, manual focus is not one. The closest the user can get is to set the camera into Manual' mode. However, the user selects from...

Nikon Coolpix P2 5.1-Megapixel Digital Camera Review

Selling for less than $240, the Nikon Coolpix P2 features 5.1-Megapixel resolution, a large 2.5-inch LCD screen, WiFi connectivity and a host of other attractive features. I bought mine for $235. Let's see how it performs...

I really like the Nikon Coolpix P2. It works well, has nice features, fluid LCD, good optics and WiFi. If you do not need a powerful flash, I highly recommend it.

Owners Opinion: Nikon Coolpix P2 (WildDenali, 18 May 07)

This camera has a large LCD window, which was a huge step-up from our previous Nikon, a CoolPix 2500. While we missed the flexibility the 2500 gave us with the swivel lens housing, the P2 definitely produced better pictures. I say produced because my...

Nikon Coolpix P2

This camera is not my favorite. The pictures I take with no flash are very blurry unless in the sun and the ones with flash make everything look awkward. The flash is either too bright or not bright enough.

Takes Some Nice Pictures, Doesn't Break Easily

Terrible Automatic, Pictures With No Flash are Blurry Usually, Kind of Hard to Use

Owners Opinion: Nikon Coolpix P2 (Bennettskaya, 21 Sep 06)

You can use it as a point and shoot but it also has aperture priority and program mode. In aperture priority it is one-click to get to a screen for changing f-stop and exposure compensation. From program mode it is one-click to get to a screen to...

Product Specifications

Nikon COOLPIX P2 is a revolutionary compact digital camera with Wi-Fi capability, excellent imaging performance and an array of advanced features. The COOLPIX P2 has built-in Wi-Fi LAN support to allow picture taking without wires and cables. In addition, the camera has USB connectivity, which makes it easy to hook it up to a computer or other peripherals. Wireless transfer allows the photographer to send pictures from the memory card or the camera's internal memory direct to a selected computer on command. Wireless shooting automatically transfers each picture to a selected computer as soon as it is shot and can be viewed with Nikon's powerful PictureProject software. Wireless printing also delivers the convenience of cable-free direct printing to PictBridge-compatible printers. This camera allows the user to correct images in-camera, thanks to the incorporation of three unique Nikon features. The D-Lighting function has the power to improve images taken with excessive back light or insufficient flash - automatically creating a copy of the selected shot, but with enhanced detail and light applied exactly where necessary. The Portrait (Face AF) Mode has the ability to detect a human face in the frame achieving sharp focus for it when the subject is facing the camera from a typical portrait distance. The COOLPIX P2 is compact, making it comfortable to shoot with and easy to carry virtually anywhere. It also features a newly designed grip for more confident shooting and the advantage of a large, bright and easy-to-view 2.5-inch LCD.
