Nikon CoolPix P60

Straight Shooter Nikon's 8.1-megapixel Coolpix P60 entices novice shooters to delve deeper into the camera's functions and gives experienced photographers the opportunity to flex their muscle with its manual controls.

Easy-to-navigate menus. Electronic viewfinder. D-lighting. Full manual controls

No wide-angle (28mm) lens. Weak battery life. 12MB onboard memory

The Coolpix P60 is appealing to photographers of all abilities. Beginners will have room to grow if they want to take advantage of the advanced controls, and experienced shutterbugs will appreciate the full manual controls, electronic viewfinder, and...

Nikon Coolpix P60

The Nikon Coolpix P60 will hold your hand if that's what you want, but this entry-level digital camera is also ready to grow with you.

Impressive zoom and focal-length range. Digital viewfinder can sub for LCD. Ability to start up in review mode. Great color in daylight shots. In-camera editing options.

Slow recycle and start-up. LCD impossible to use in direct sunlight. Bulky for "compact" camera. No rechargeable battery option.

Despite its heft and slow response times, this pricey point-and-shooter offers an impressive range of features for an entry-level digital camera.

Nikon Coolpix P60 First Impressions Review

Take a look at the Nikon Coolpix P60 Nikon unveiled the update to its Performance series, the Coolpix P60, at PMA 2008 in Las Vegas. With a target audience of advanced point-and-shooters, the 8.1-megapixel P60 is the update to the P50 with a longer 5x...

-5x zoom with optical image stabilization -Easy handling for a point-and-shoot -Manual controls for shutter speed and aperture -Simple menu system -Wide 16:9 shooting -Accepts multiple battery types

-2.5-inch LCD is behind the curve -Lacks the fancy, exciting features of many similarly priced cameras

We think the Nikon Coolpix P60 camera will perform similarly to the earlier P50, which is $30 less now. At an original retail price of $229.95, the P60 ups the optical zoom to 5x, and has lens shifting image stabilization. The camera carries over face...

Nikon Coolpix P60 Review

The Nikon Coolpix P60 is one of the more interesting point-and-shoot digital cameras on the market, offering an attractive combination of sensible 8 megapixel resolution and 5x zoom lens complete with CCD-shift image stabilization for blur-free...

The Nikon Coolpix P60 is a well-built (especially solid with two AA batteries inserted) and reasonably priced option for digital beginners or casual snappers, if slightly boringly bringing nothing new to the party. Yes, it delivers image...

Nikon Coolpix P60 Digital Camera - First Shots - The Imaging Resource!

The Nikon Coolpix P60 is designed for the enthusiast looking for a compact digicam with manual control, and advanced Nikon features such as an optically-stabilized 5x VR zoom lens, Face-Priority AF and D-Lighting.

The Nikon Coolpix P60 has an 8.1 megapixel imager, 5x optically stabilized zoom lens, 2.5" LCD display, AA batteries for power, and SD slot plus a not-very-generous 12MB of built-in memory

Nikon Coolpix P60

For the price, the P60 takes some nice photos and is easy to use, but the clunky body could turn some buyers off.

Easy to use; impressive image stabilizer; fast

Bulky frame; inconsistent photo quality in low light; small LCD

Double your display real estate by adding a second monitor. It's a snap: Here's how

Nikon Coolpix P60 Review at ePhotozine

For a couple of hundred pounds, this isn’t a bad camera. Better performances can be attained with other cameras, but you'll more than likely have to pay more.

Nikon Coolpix P60 Review

There are a ton of digital cameras out there, and quite a few of them are competing with the Nikon Coolpix P60 for position at the top of the general-purpose compact camera heap.

Compact, yet full-featured ; Manual modes ; Good electronic viewfinder ; Above average battery life on NiMHs

Long flash recharge/poor flash judgment ; Weak, plastic construction ; LCD could be higher resolution ; Lens distortion may bother some
