Nikon Coolpix P7800 review: Good image quality, but slow operational speed is a letdown

Advanced point and shoot is a camera category that is slowly but surely gaining significance, not only for those who are looking at a second camera body but also those users who want a compact camera with all the manual functionality. Nikon came out...

Nikon Coolpix P7800 comes at a price of Rs 27,950, which is considerably less than the Sony RX100 II and Canon Powershot G16, who are its closest competitors. The Sony RX 100 II is certainly a much better low light and overall performer than the Nikon...

Nikon Coolpix P7800 Preview

Nikon has announced the new Coolpix P7800. Replacing last year's P7700, which had "outstanding image quality" and "performed especially well in low light," the P7800 carries over many of the P7700's strongest features. Namely, the 12.2 MP 1/1.7" CMOS...

Small, light and capable

Small and light, but well built - not flimsy. Has a full range of features equivalent to an entry level DSLR except that it has a fixed lens and a smaller sensor. The picture quality is excellent at all focal lengths (28-200) and the relatively fast...

Good lens, full features, compact size, has a viewfinder

Processor is too slow causing unacceptable wait time between shots

Great Camera - Especially for DSLR Users

I am an avid Nikon DSLR user. But I wanted something easier to carry, compact and with features I'd use in most shooting applications. This is it. Full auto, SP, AP, manual and other feature loaded modes. Hot shoe and EVF with a LCD screen. Just...

Compact. It'll do virtually everything you'll ever do with a DSLR

A little expensive

Great cary around camera, produces great images

Bought this camera as an alternative to carrying DSLR and lenses and I have found that it has exceeded my expectations. Has a fast and sharp lens that produces very good images in spite of small sensor. JPEGs are sharp with good contrast and color and...

Not a bad Auto/Manual Camera

The Nikon - Coolpix P7800 12.2-Megapixel Digital Camera is a very good Digital camera. It can be used in an Automatic mode or a Manual mode. The negative is that it feels and looks very cheaply made. Lots of plastic for the high price!About me......

Nikon Coolpix P7800 review

Nikon is on the up when it comes to its compact cameras. And if you're looking for a high-end model then the Coolpix P7800 may have already made it onto your shortlist, alongside similar models such as the Canon PowerShot G16.

28-200mm f/2.0-4.0 lens range and brightness, sharp images of a good quality, vari-angle screen, built-in viewfinder, physical controls

Chunky design won’t suit all, viewfinder quality limitations, price considering competition, some exposure oddities, no physical lens ring
