Olympus D-535 Zoom

I spend a lot of time reviewing fancy cameras, so how about something for beginners instead? Our review of the D-535Z starts now

Compact body doesn't feel cheap for the price ; 3.2MP, 3X zoom for $150 is a good value ; Decent outdoor photo quality ; Get as close as 2 cm in super macro mode ; Much improved bundled software

Sluggish performance ; Soft photos with fuzzy details ; Redeye ; LCD hard to see in low light ; Poor low light focusing; no AF-assist lamp ; No control over white balance ; No optical viewfinder ; Unexciting movie mode ; Full manual only on CD

The bottom line is that I wasn't thrilled with the D-535 Zoom. If the camera had white balance controls I would've been a lot more positive, but alas it does not. My advice is to spend a little more money to get a more capable camera. I've listed some...

Olympus C-370 Zoom

It is not necessary to be an expert in photography to get excellent results with the Olympus C-370 ZOOM. "Photo fun for everyone" is the philosophy behind this compact and lightweight model. By incorporating a "one button, one function" principle,...

My business and personal opinion on the D535 Olympus camera

It is quite easy to use.

This camera is very hard on batteries.

I bought this for my wife just over a year ago as a P&S handbag camera. It does everything expected of it, I am particular impressed by it's indoor no-flash shots. We recently visited the Vatican Museum, her shots were far better quality than mine...

Battery life is an issue but it can go all day quite happily. Our technique is to use rechargables in the camera but have a spare set of ordinary batteries handy if needed. Then remember to recharge and swap them back the next morning. That way you...

* Can't believe Olympus have cameras like this on the market * Lost our honeymoon photos - camera froze halfway through taking a photo and they could not be recovered by Olympus (even bought genuine Olympus XD card, was very expensive) * At best can...

Battery consumption disgraceful ; Long time to take a photo ; Potential loss of pictures ; Very low interest shown in our problems from Olympus (eg wrote a letter outling all facts involved, took almost 7 weeks to have a replacement sent out)

I have been usingit for 6 months now. Generally it takes a clear picture but noticed that taken when the light is going down or it's under artificial light that the picture can be very grainy. I know someone who has the exact same camera but the...

Just grainy pictures on night time

I have now purchased this camera both for my business and my girlfriend. I am a beginner at cameras so I used this website's info as a crutch. I initially purchased it for the cameras extremely small focal range in macro mode. It excels at this. At...

Battery life is TERRIBLE ; Girlfriend complains its "slow." Maybe it is, I've never personally seen it though

Really love this little camera. Photos taken were pretty impressive. Crisp and clean. Easy to operate & great for a first digital camera.

Just wish it had sound ; Don't really like the software (too much fiddling with it), so I am using Paint Shop Pro - Photo Album for editing
