Olympus D-560 Zoom

For 2003 Olympus has made their popular D-Series Camedia point-n-shoot cameras even smaller and lighter. The D-560 Zoom features a durable and stylish silver body with a clamshell lens barrier, 3.2-megapixel imager, 3X optical zoom lens, Digital ESP multi

I believe this is going to be a successful product for Olympus, it's reasonably priced ($299), loaded with features, produces excellent pictures with enough resolution for prints from 4x6" up to 8x10" and larger and small enough to slip into your pants po

Digital Cameras - Olympus D-560 Zoom Digital Camera Review, Information, Specifications

The D-560 Zoom is the next generation of Olympus' user-friendly "D" series digicams. With its available Scene shooting modes, 3.3-megapixel CCD, and 3x optical zoom lens, the D-560 Zoom is flexible, convenient, and easy to use. The point-and-shoot...

The D-560 Zoom is equipped with a 3x, 5.8-17.4mm zoom lens (equivalent to a 35-105mm lens on a 35mm camera). Maximum aperture ranges from f/3.1 to f/5.2, depending on the zoom setting. In its normal AF mode, the D-560 Zoom focuses from 1.6 feet (50...

Olympus D-560 Zoom

Image quality is good for a 3.2MP camera (as long as you have fresh batteries or a AC adapter). I bought it as a open box model. Came with the manual, CD, wrist strap, 16MB XD-Card, and 2 AA arkaline batteries. Bought it for US $280 in 2003. I presumed...

Batteries run out only after 5~6 shots. Its renders this camera practically useless since it cannot last longer than a couple hours even when turned off ; The lens barrel wiggles around, and the lens barrier does not move smooth. THe Lens barrier also...

Good picture quality, easy to use.

Battery life is horrible, even with lithium batteries, I was able to only get about 60-70 shots. The battery meter is useless, comes on when the battery is already dead ; Night mode is terrible, shots always come out blurry ; No sound mode on video

This was my first real digital camera and the reason I will never ever buy another Olympus again, no matter the characteristics. I bought this camera in Austria sometime in 2003 and paid for it 300EUR, which was a huge amount of money for such a piece...

First of all, the battery life is so bad that after only a few pictures (2-3) using flash and LCD the indicator shows the battery as being almost empty and gives out a warning signal. So, you'd need a fresh supply right after that ; Second, if you...

It takes pictures for a few minutes that look decent.

This piece of junk EATS batteries. If you put fresh batteries in, it will usually say that they are near death (turning the camera off and on again then shows they are full). If you leave the batteries in the camera, they die in about 10 hours. In all,...

I purchased this camera just over 1 year ago and am very pleased with it so far. It only has 3.2 megapixels however the camera produces excelent quality images with no wrong colouring and skin tone is also very good. The controls and facilities are...

So far no problems however when I recently went on holiday, a very small amount of fine dust became trapped in the optical lense and as a result scratched the out casing of the lense

Total Crap! I have nothing good to say about it, so move on down to the 'problem' section...

Where to begin?? What didn' t go wrong with this camera?? From day 1, it has given me nothing but grief. I believe I must have gotten a dud...cuz there is no way, a camera would be this crappy ; I missed SO many photo ops because it would only allow me...

I tried a few different cameras before I picked this one up. It felt intuitive, not unlike a pair of well-used jeans. I thuroughly enjoy the size and layout of the unit. I know that it is a limited camera, though I think Olympus did some very good work...

My computer has a VIA chipset, an AMD processor, and runs XP, so my camera forces it to restart every time I let them talk too long. There is a firmware update available, but I don't want to send my camera away for something that I can circumvent. I...
