Announced at the end of January, the Olympus FE-250 is the top offering in the company's line of entry-level point-and-shoots. The slim 8-megapixel FE-250 has a 2.5-inch, 230,000-pixel LCD, Bright Capture technology, and a Digital Image Stabilization...

Small size means easy portability ; Large, bright LCD screen ; The Shooting Guide menu provides novice users with on-the-go help ; Bright Capture technology

A steep price tag without the features to back it up ; Poor construction and low-quality materials ; Split menu structure may confuse the novice ; Lack of white balance presets ; Red-eye in portrait photographs even with the Red-eye setting turned on

The Olympus FE-250 packs an 8-megapixel CCD, 3x optical zoom, and 230,000-pixel 2.5-inch LCD into a petite metal frame. The camera improves on the manual controls of lower-priced “FE” models by including control over ISO. It comes with a wealth of...

Olympus FE-250

Sometimes you just don't want to agonize over whether you should choose the soup or the salad, the Coke or the Pepsi, the PC or the Mac. Olympus realizes just how hard choices can be, which is why it's made the FE series of digital cameras. They're...

Good image quality; great indoor white balance.

Sluggish performance; few manual settings.

The Olympus FE-250 is a little slow and has few manual settings, but at least it takes good pictures.

Olympus FE-250

Introduced in January 2007, the 8-megapixel FE-250 is the middle model in Olympus's entry-level line. The FE-250 has typical point-and-shoot features including 3x optical zoom, a 2.5-inch LCD, and digital image stabilization. The FE-250 had an...

Olympus FE-250 Digital Camera Full Review

The Olympus FE-250 is the current top of the line FE model from Olympus.

8 megapixels ; Well-built ; Attractive, slim metal body

Slight overexposure by default ; White balance under indoor lighting a little spotty

The FE-250 is the best performing model in the current FE lineup.  While its image quality results are similar to the other models, it has the best overall operation speed.  In particular, card access times are much better than its siblings. ...

Olympus FE-250

Bellow Average! Poor image quality. (this is an old camera now 2009, only found as 2nd hand) I ve only used this camera for a day or so.. but i think I came up with a conclusion It PS camera with NOT many features to tune up. (it has P(rogram)...

Image quality is bellow average ; Extreme NR ends up destroing every detail (pixel ; level). This is true for even ISO 50!! Hairs, grass, all ; detail is missing and all you get is a grainy noisy picture ; Jpeg (what else?) artifacts even at best JPEG...

Olympus FE-250

I bought a demo model of the FE-250 as a carry all the time camera. The price I paid was therefore about 50% of the standard retail price. I think the camera isn't worth much more than that. It's not a bad camera. But it's not so good as you would...

Not a problem yet, but the door to the USB connection looks very flimsy.

Owners Opinion: Olympus FE-250 (gburgos, 5 Jul 07)

Great Price. Goods pics. One of the first digital cameras i had was the c3000 (back in 2000). To date it was the best non-SLR I ever owned, flawless pics in any light. I selected the FE-250 because it is one of the few cameras in its size category that...

Body was great looking but felt overly light and hollow. Photos a little soft and dry for my taste
