Olympus SP-320

Weighing just more than eight ounces with two AA batteries and an xD-Picture card installed, the Olympus SP-310/320 is too bulky to call a pocket camera, but it doesn't take up much room in a purse, and it'll ride just fine holstered to your belt in an...

Lots of shooting features; smart online help; supports raw format; runs on AA-size batteries.

Artifacts in photos; significant shutter lag in dim conditions.

The Olympus SP-320 and the Olympus SP-310 are compact, feature-rich cameras that are nevertheless outclassed by competitors' speed and photo quality.

Olympus SP-320

This year at PMA Olympus announced the release of the Olympus SP-320, a new addition to the SP line, which already features the SP-310 and the SP-350. This 7.1 MP camera continues the SP tradition of full manual, auto and a wealth of preset shooting...

External controls are well designed, spaced and sized ; Manual control options are extensive and include white balance compensation and bracketing of exposure settings ; RAW shooting mode

Menu structure is poorly designed and necessitated constant checking of control information ; 2.5-inch LCD only composed of 115,000 pixels ; Auto focus struggled in low light

The Olympus SP-320 certainly provides a wide variety of controls, such as full manual features, partial auto, full auto and a wealth of preset shooting options sure to appeal to the user on a budget. The only problem is that the menu is unfriendly...

Olympus SP-320 Digital Camera Review

The Olympus SP-320 is a member of Olympus' SP line of cameras that have "Power and Versatility".

Nice set of "advanced features" for price ; Good image quality ; Lots of customizability of buttons ; Comfortable to hold

LCD blackouts and cycle time too long when batteries have plenty of life left ; xD Picture Card media (especially the fact that you can't shoot Panorama unless you have Olympus branded media)

The Olympus SP-320 is a good choice for someone looking for camera with advanced features (RAW, aperture priority, shutter priority, and manual modes) but who still has a pretty tight budget. At a street price under $300, the SP-320 stays affordable...

Olympus SP-320

Got a used one for around 100$. Excelent lens,no purple fringing. Excelent image quality ,lots of features.

You need hi capacity ni-mh rechargeble batteries,a alkaline battery will only last 20-30 pictures ; Maximum 1/2 seconds exposure time in P,A,S modes

Owners Opinion: Olympus SP-320 (Leo, 12 Apr 07)

My SP-320 was purchased as refurbished from Olympus. I have selected SP-320 because of 1/1.8 sensor (large sensor - low noise and it is), RAW format, basic RAW and JPG editing in the camera and excellent ergonomics. Ergonomics: the function of AEL...

The xD memory is the only thing I do not like - slow and expensive ; I would like to be able to use 2G card, however, the specification limits memory card to 1G

Olympus SP-320

Here is a terrific little camera that takes excellent quality pictures. It has all the features the more expensive units have. You can set the camera to be fully automatic, full manual, or anywhere in between. You can point and shoot, or point and...

Olympus SP-320

As somebody into digital art, or the advanced amateur whom can't budget for - or just doesn't want to haul a heavy, bulky and expensive DSLR around - then overall I think this is a very good choice in terms of features and image quality compressed into...

Full manual controls. Image quality. Good F range. Macro. Optical viewfinder. Lens thread for conversion lenses/filters

Low-res display. Some frustrating, repetative functions. Minor Image demons at high ISO

Olympus SP-320

Great compact camera with manual features. Unfortunately, the craftmanship is lacking. Two different camera LCD displays went bad within months of purchase. Contacted Olympus and was informed that they do not warranty the LCD because I must have...

Great manual features, large LCD display, uses AA batteries and compact

Both my daughter and my camera LCD displays went bad within months

The best value in it's class

First, it's somewhat unfair to compare the Olympus SP-320 to the "similarly priced" Canon A700 since this camera costs over $100 less than it.

Extensive feature set in an affordable, compact package

Annoying low power management, performance isn't bad but it falls behind competition
