Olympus SZ-14 Review

Travel zoom digital cameras are a bridge between point-and-shoots and mega-zoom cameras. They are small enough to easily fit into the pocket and offer a raft of features that allow users to capture great shots. These include a telephoto lens, fully...

Olympus SZ-14 Review

This review camera dropped out of the box — in bright red! Talk about making a statement!

I’m not sure how you all feel about CICs — cameras in colours. It’s not that important to me, except for the benefit of making the control IDs more visible.

Olympus SZ-14 review

With an impressive 24x superzoom lens and 14MP resolution for under £200, what's the catch with this compact travel camera?

24x zoom range ; Effective image stabilisation ; Easy to use ; Thin

Prorietary USB connection ; No manual exosure ; Only 720 HD video ; Sliery finger gri

Although there may be a few issues that could be improved upon, such as the non-standard USB interface and the iESP metering system's propensity for overexposure, the Olympus SZ-14 still represents good value for the price.

Olympus SZ-14 review

The travel zoom compact is still proving popular and Olympus is building a raft of small-bodied, big-zoom, low-cost cameras for 2012. Setting sail in the wake of the SP-620UZ ‘Ultra Zoom' we reviewed a few weeks back (16 megapixels and 21x optical...

Broad focal range, relatively compact dimensions, good value pricing, reasonably consistent performance from shot to shot

Scroll wheel at the back is very slippery and it’s hard to arrive at the setting you want without much back and forth, battery life is so-so

User friendly budget-priced travel zoom omits the higher-end rival likes of GPS and Full HD video, but offers most features that casual snappers would want and for a value added price tag that won’t bust a budget.
