Olympus VR-340

The Olympus VR-340 ($129.99 direct) is a modestly priced compact camera that, while not without its drawbacks, is quite capable when used in decent light. The 16-megapixel shooter uses a CCD sensor, so video is limited to 720p, but it does pack a 10x...

Inexpensive. 10x zoom range. 24mm wide-angle lens. Big, sharp LCD. Solid build quality. Image stabilization

Lengthy shutter lag. Detail loss at higher ISO settings. Video limited to 720p

The modestly priced, solidly built Olympus VR-340 is not without its drawbacks, but is quite capable when used in the right lighting situations.

Olympus VR-340First Impressions Review

Replacing the VR-320 as Olympus' cheapest and slimmest travel zoom, the recently announced VR-340 condenses 10x optical zoom into a pocketable chassis, and captures shots on a new 16 megapixel CCD.

Great Little Camera

Easy to use. Easy to shift between movie and photo modes without going to menue. Pictures and movies clear. Good PC connectivity. Good zoom. A little larger than my previous pocket camera but readily workable.
