Per the previous review - the specs on the two camera's are ALMOST exactly the same. The FS8S has a weaker apeture range - F3.3-F5.9 vs. F2.8-5.9 for the FS7.

I scoured the internet and called Panasonic to determine the difference between this camera and the silver FS7 before buying....to no avail. I went with this one and crossed my fingers. Mostly I'm here to report, you don't need to cross your fingers....
