Excellent point and shoot camera. Largeish LCD and easy to remove text when required to see image detail. Image adjustments easily made, chosen settings displayed on LCD. Image stabilisation and long exposure times and high ISO settings allow good...

None really. Previous cameras were Nikon 2200 (also good but LS1 answered all the limitations of the 2200) and Canon S1 IS (good camera but opportunities gone by the time you get set up.) ; I'd like more zoom, wider angle, but do not miss those badly

No viewfinder, only LCD monitor but LCD is of a good size ; Flash seems to go off even on sunny outside shots...not really a problem (maybe a setting adjustment?)

Olympus E-500 ,Digital camera .

Product Specifications

Jitter from shaky hands is one of the main reasons why cameras produce blurry images. Panasonic doesn't expect everyone to have hands of stone when taking pictures - that's why Lumix cameras help solve the problem of unsteady hands with advanced MEGA Optical Image Stabilizer technology. The DMC-LS1 has a built-in gyrosensor that detects any hand movement and relays a signal to a tiny microcomputer inside the camera, which instantly calculates the compensation needed. A linear motor then shifts the Optical Image Stabilizer lens as necessary to guide incoming light from the image straight to the CCD. You won't even notice it working - all you'll see are the outstanding results!
