Owners Opinion: Panasonic Lumix DMC-LS75 (Ted Williamson, 27 Feb 08)

I bought this camera for my daughter and it's very sturdy and has good image quality for a point and shoot. For around $150.00, it's a very good deal.

For what this camera is, a point and shoot, it's very good. I bought it probably about 3 years ago now at Big Lots for very cheap mostly for ebay. It has held up very well, and recently just discovered it does more than I knew about in the past, which...

Great camera, no microphone

We have had this camera for a while and it takes great pictures, especially for the price you pay for it. One moot point I did have was that there was no microphone, so no audio in videos.

Product Specifications

Panasonic invented the MEGA O.I.S. (Optical Image Stabilizer) system to fight against hand-shake, the major cause of blurry images. This system, which takes advantage of Panasonic's outstanding lens technology, has long been incorporated into the LUMIX range of cameras. In addition, the DMC-LS75-S compensates for the other major cause of blurry images - subject movement. It's automatic, so you can leave everything to the camera. Versatile Scene Modes are another great LUMIX feature. And the Scene Mode list display makes them even easier to select. You can choose from a total of 18 situations, including the Sunset and Pet modes, for settings that match your subject. Animated moving icons make mode selection even easier and more fun. For convenience, the DMC-LS75-S can be powered by two AA size batteries. The supplied Oxyride batteries let you take about 250 photos. Because AA size batteries can be purchased almost anywhere, you don't have to worry about suddenly running out of battery power. This is great both for taking everyday snapshots and when you are traveling. Turn your living room into a photo gallery. Simply slip an SD/SDHC Memory Card containing the photos you've taken into a TV compatible with Panasonic SD Link to show your photos or a motion image on the large screen or have a slide show. Viewing photos with friends is fun at parties too. When watching on a large screen, even familiar photos may show you some new, surprising details that you never noticed on your camera's LCD.
