Panasonic Lumix DMC-TZ2

I have this camera for a few months now and I must say that I am really pleased with the results. Of course, the low light pictures are not as crispy as they will be from a pricey DSLR, but in most of the conditions the image quality is more than just...

Low light conditions produce some noise, although you cannot really make that a problem considering the type of camera this is.

Had some great shots from the camera in all kinds of lighting conditions. I haven't encountered any real low light issues. One thing some users may have forgotten is the 'safety mechanism' that Panasonic has included that limits the lowest shutter...

None ; Even the video mode...if I want a video camera...I'd buy a proper video camera. This is a great stills camera, with an adequate movie mode there for convenience in casual use

I bought this as a replacement for a Ricoh Caplio R3, which I found to be a very fragile camera (3! times in the first year the Caplio needed a whole new lens assembly because of shock damage - now, I admit I am tough on my cameras, but really!). The...

I have a few digital cameras now, a Fuji S5000, Fuji S5600, Nikon L6 and an old Kodak point and shoot, but this one is the only one that I own which has a true 28mm equiv. wide angle lens and is small enough to travel around without any drama! Good...

The only drawback that I have found is that under very low light conditions it does not produce very bright results, as my Fuji S5000 does due to the f2.8 lens ; But, Corel Paint Shop Pro 11 manages to fix most problems....Battery life seems OK & the...

I was looking for a quality, compact zoom camera to augment my 2 Canon digitals. I was not even considering a Panasonic, much less a Lumix TZ2. I liked the lens on the TZ2 but I wasn't sure that Panasonic, with limited years of experience in digital,...

There is no viewfinder or Manual mode on this camera. Its not an issue for me but bear that in mind when you buy

Pros: small dimensions, aluminium body, 10× Zoom, wideangle 28 mm and image stabilization. But quality of pictures is good only when outside enough light.

Cons: very bad pictures quality by few of light owing to SW noise reduction (My old Minolta E323 make better pictures). Too much scene programs and none apreture/time preferences

Excellent travel camera with flexible wideangle superzoom.

Product Specifications

The Panasonic Lumix DMC-TZ2 is a digital camera, renowned for packaging a remarkable 10x optical zoom in a compact, stylish body. To further add to its appeal, the DMC-TZ2 goes one step further to feature a 28mm wide-angle Leica DC lens (equivalent to 28-280mm on a 35mm film camera) for wide-angle shooting. The 28mm wide-angle lens opens up a plethora of photographic opportunities, allowing photographers to easily capture a large group of people, or expansive architectural structures and landscapes with dynamic width and rich perspective. The wide-angle lens is particularly helpful in situations where you cannot step back or move away from a subject - ideal for shooting group portraits in a small room for example. The diminutive size of the 6.0 megapixel DMC-TZ2 belies the wealth of technological features. Incorporating a powerful 10x optical zoom in such a slim and stylish body is impressive in itself. Add to this the incorporation of Panasonic's Mega O.I.S that prevents blurring from shaky hands, Intelligent ISO to prevent motion blur, and the high quality, high performance image-processing Venus Engine III to name but a few - and the caliber of these new additions becomes apparent.
