Panasonic Lumix DMC-TZ18 Review

Over the course of the last year, a once unheard of segment in cameras took off so fast that virtually all camera manufacturers launched a product. This segment we are referring to is the travel compact or travel zoom. It is virtually a compact camera...

The Panasonic Lumix DMC-TZ18 is priced in India at a'n MOP of Rs.15,500. This camera does well in its design and has features that can stand up to the competition, especially since it features an incredible zoom capability as well as manual...

Panasonic Lumix DMC-ZS8 (Black)

If you walked into a store and saw Panasonic's Lumix DMC-ZS8 and its Lumix DMC-ZS10 next to each other, you might not immediately see the differences, let alone $100 worth of them. Even after picking them up, you might notice only that the ZS10 has a...

The Panasonic Lumix DMC-ZS8 is a basic compact megazoom with very good photo quality and shooting performance for its class, as well as long battery life.

The ZS8 is somewhat expensive for what it's offering.

The Panasonic Lumix DMC-ZS8 is a fine compact megazoom, if not the best value.

Panasonic Lumix DMC-ZS8 Preview

Panasonic has added two new models to their popular ZS-series of compact long-zoom digicams, the Lumix DMC-ZS10 and Lumix DMC-ZS8. Both offer a powerful 16x optical zoom lens with their proven MEGA O.I.S. stabilization system, 3.0-inch LCDs, and...

Panasonic Lumix DMC-ZS8

A competent long zoom digital camera with fewer frills than its ZS10 brother--unless you consider the 24-384mm lens a frill. An excellent pocket companion.(#2 in our 2011 Travel Zoom Shootout!)Panasonic Lumix ZS8 Overviewby Mike Pasini and Stephanie...

It's just great to have a 16x zoom in a compact camera. Especially when that range starts at a 24mm equivalent, a real wide-angle. That's the real value of a camera like the Panasonic ZS8. You can take the Panasonic ZS8 anywhere and it will be equally...

"Dust quickly renders the Lumix unusable. Don't buy it."

It's not just me, many other reviews I've read decry the fact the ultra-zoom feature on the Panasonic Lumix DMC-ZS8 digital camera attracts dust onto the sensor, leaving black spots in the same location on every picture. The camera is rendered useless....

The zoom lens is excellent before dust invades the sensor.

Dust gets on the sensor, leaving a black spot in the middle of your pics! Don't buy the Panasonic Lumix DMC-ZS8 digital camera because the dust renders the camera unusable after a short time of ownership.

"AWFUL DURABILITY!WORSE CUSTOMER SUPPORT!FALSE WARRANTY!"

I made the mistake of buying this camera twice. Both times the camera pictures got black marks on all the photo due to some type of dust getting into the camera. I even took extra special care to keep it clean, leaving it in a zippered case when not in...

Camera took nice pictures and strong zoom for the 1 month that it worked properly.

-Terrible durability. Made the mistake of buying 2 of these. Both broke within the first 3 months despite taking extra special care of them

"WORST CUSTOMER SUPPORT EVER!!! NEVER PURCHASE!!!"

I purchased the camera three months ago in the States for my upcoming 6 months of international travel. The camera stopped auto-focusing rendering it as useful as a paperweight. I attempted to use the chat support option which didn't work and then...

Worked as advertised for 2 months...I guess that's a PRO but not really sure.

Camera stopped auto-focusing after two months. Customer support refused to assist me while I was traveling for 6 months and proceeded to hang up on me.

"Battery Id designed to use Panosonic ONLY is flawed."

Took great Pictures WHEN it worked

Battery Id System Fails Frequently

"nice zoom and the amazing Leica lens"

I think the lens is one of the best features for this camera, leica lens changes the whole scenario with amazing clarity.. it has very sharp pictures and easy to use, very sleek and easy to carry

its a little slower to start with, but alright. ISO clarity is not so great. COST!

Latest model remains a top-line travel camera.

Upgrading to this camera for me (from a Panasonic TZ5) was mainly about getting a wider angle lense and extra zoom capability. So far the camera has delivered. Cnet's query about value-for-money is possibly valid, but I was able to shop around and get...

Good balance of megapixels and zoom capabilities in a compact body ; iA feature remains effective in most shooting situations ; Long battery life a definite plus for a regular traveller

Distance shots in low light still not feasible, realistically ; LCD display not as 'clean' as my previous model, a TZ5
