The main thing you'll notice about the SD card (and similar MultiMediaCard, which Panasonic includes with the camera) is how small it is. Check it out below

Nice design - solid, easy to hold, good looking ; Uncompressed TIFF mode ; Movie mode with sound

Poor low light photos - worse than average ; Outdoor photos seem unsaturated ; Expensive for what you get ; No real manual controls ; I'm not a big fan of proprietary memory cards ; Playback mode unrefined

While I hate to be negative in reviews, I feel that it's my duty to give you all an honest opinion, before you spend your hard-earned money. But that's why you're here, right? The Panasonic ipalm PV-DC3000 is a camera with an interesting design, and...

Product Specifications

Panasonic introduces the world's first SD-compatible digital camera: the PV-DC3000 ipalm digital camera. It was designed to produce pro-quality photographs with simple, single-touch convenience. User-friendly features such as Easy Mail attachment and one button image transfer let you connect to your PC extra quickly. Small and lightweight, the PV-DC3000 also offers a sharp 3.3 mega pixel CCD with 2x optical zoom/3x digital zoom, to take the high-quality shots you want, every time you shoot. And the revolutionary, built-in SD card slot gives you the option to record great looking digital images on either an SD memory card (optional) or MultiMediaCard (included), for a variety of multimedia applications. The PV-DC3000 ipalm digital camera comes with a charged coupled device (CCD) that uses over 3.3 million pixels - an incredible 2, 048 x 1, 536 pixels worth in super fine, fine, and TIFF modes. This means you'll capture sharp, crisp images in amazingly high resolution for truly professional-looking photographs, every time. The PV-DC3000 ipalm digital camera is equipped with a lens sharp enough to capture amazingly fine details. Use the 2: 1 optical zoom capability to produce extraordinary close-ups. For additional close range options, the ipalm digital camera comes with a 3x digital zoom, which digitally magnifies images up to three times their normal size. The 1.5" color LCD screen gives you a clear indication of what your digital photos will look like both before and after you shoot. You can also use it as a monitor to play back video clips recorded with the motion image-recording feature. Plus, the LCD screen even functions as an on-screen menu, from which you can control various camera features and settings. Create mini audio/video clips with your PV-DC3000, by recording up to 12 seconds of still frames at approximately 0.1-second intervals in the QuickTime format. Once recorded, each QuickTime video is automatically saved on your SD memory card or MultiMediaCard as a motion-recording file with audio. Preview your video clips with audio on the camera's built-in LCD, and e-mail them to friends and family from your home PC. You can also record 5 seconds of audio to go along with your photographs. So when you play them back on a computer, you'll hear the corresponding audio with your digital images. Time Lapse Recording enables you to set the camera to automatically capture an image from once every minute to once every 24 hours. So, you can capture the sun rising in the morning or chronicle the slow blooming of a flower.
