Pentax Optio 230

WHAT'S HOT: The Optio 230 is a compact and easy-to-use camera. It's just large enough to fit comfortably in your hand, yet small enough to drop into a shirt pocket. The functional control and navigation buttons are nicely spaced and well sized, even...

Pentax bundles ACD Systems' ACDSee image management software with the Optio 230. While it lacks the fine image editing and repairing controls found in Adobe's Photoshop or Photoshop Elements, ACDSee has a great set of tools for managing a large...

Pentax Optio 230 (2.1MP, 1600 x 1200, 3X Opt, 16MB CF) (Pentax Technologies-18092)

Though the Optio 230 is a solid camera with a couple of interesting features, it would benefit from higher resolution.

Pentax Optio 230

Like other models in the Optio series, the Optio 230 is amazingly compact and easy to carry, with dimensions of just 4.0" (W), 2.5" (H), and 1.5" (D) and weighs only 6.3 oz. The 3X zoom lens is equivalent to a 38-114mm lens in 35mm format and provides...

The image processing circuitry makes the Optio 230 a robust performer. The user can easily choose from a range of shooting modes, such as Auto, Full selectable, Night Scene, and Movie. There's individual buttons for frequently used functions accessed...

Pentax EI-2000

The Pentax EI-2000 SLR is identical to the HP PhotoSmart C912. These cameras were jointly developed by Hewlett Packard and Pentax and will be sold by both companies under their own labels.

Pentax Optio 230

Built into the Optio 230 is a 3x, 5.8-17.4mm optical zoom lens, the equivalent of a 38-114mm zoom on a 35mm camera. (This is a fairly typical range, from a modest wide angle to a moderate telephoto.) Made up of six elements in five groups, with one...

Owners Opinion: Pentax EI-200 (Pete, 6 Jan 05)

I recommended the purchase of three of these for my office about two to three years ago, right as they had been discontinued. We paid $400 each. All three get heavy use by as many as 20 different people. They have been dropped, abused and misused....

Battery cover came off one, we replaced. Otherwise: none

Owners Opinion: Pentax Optio 230 (gnguyen, 19 Feb 04)

This is a good point-and-shoot camera. Outdoor images are very good but indoor images are usually under exposed. The Optio230 flash is only good within 2m. I had a chance to compare this camera with the Canon A70 and Sony DSC-P72 in the same shooting...

The Optio230 has trouble in focusing objects in low light conditions. Auto focus is slow. Battery life is quite short. ISO setting is only up to ISO200

Owners Opinion: Pentax Optio 230 (TimV, 7 Feb 04)

I bought this camera something over a year ago. Its self-portrait mode is really fun; every point'n'shoot camera should have a similar mode. The 3D mode is pure gimick; it was fun playing with it for a while but I never got it to work anywhere near as...

autowhite balance in incadescent light ; reds saturate quickly
