Affordable price; wide range of creative capabilities; easy to use; powerful flash.

Less than stellar image quality; no optical viewfinder; mediocre shooting speed.

With more features than its price implies, this camera will please creative snapshooters and beginners alike.

Pentax's Optio 33L offers a 3x optical and a 2.7 digital zoom in a camera that resembles a standard 35mm compact.

Good image quality, Plenty of scene selections to choose from

Digital zoom, no charger in the box

This is a great entry-level camera that offers perhaps more than most would want or know how to use at this level. In that way it offers novices room to grow without upgrading straight away, quite rare in today's digicam market.

Go for it!! You won't be sorry if you purchase this camera!!

 

I purchased this camera for my husband about two years ago. However, I seem to have stolen it away from him! I take at least several pictures per day with it - mostly of outdoor scenes or my kitties!! (P.S. While my kitties ran from my regular camera ...

Good price, small size, lightweight, CLEAR COLOR PHOTOS every single time.

Beware of accidentally going into movie mode!

Good camera!

 

I've had the OPTIO 33L for about a year now and overall, it is a good camera. I feel it is an excellent "starter" camera for someone who has never owned a digital camera before. It is fairly easy to use and the special features are fairly ...

Easy to use, nice pictures, easy to download to computer. Decent battery life.

Freezes up, requiring hard reboot. Defaults with flash always on which shortens battery life.
