Pentax Optio E10 First Impressions Review

Launched at the CES 2006 show in January, the Pentax Optio E10 is the flagship model in a new Pentax line of entry level, budget digital cameras aimed at users who want a simple photographic experience. Priced at under $200 and available this February,...

- Simple mode makes point-and-shoot use very easy - Comfortable to hold - Controls are straightforward and easy to use

- The LCD screen is grainy and doesn't do justice to the photos - Limited ISO range (even among point-and-shoots) - Menus can be a little difficult to read

It's obvious that the E10 has been built to appeal to users on a budget. It's not that the Pentax Optio E10 is a bad camera - it's just that there really isn't anything outstanding about it. In our limited testing, we found the image quality to be...

Pentax Optio E10: Product Review

The Pentax Optio E10 is a 6 megapixel digital camera with a 3x optical zoom. This camera is very affordable and can be purchased for less than $150 at most major retailers. This camera is very well priced and is cheaper than most other cameras on the...

I have had nothing but trouble with this camera, I have spent more on batteries than I did for the camera. It has been sent twice for service, the first time some repairs were made and I was told to use only lithium batteries, which is what I did use,...

I don't see why everyone says the image quality is bad. I use a tripod and the self timer, no flash. Images are sharp, better than average. No discolored fringing. All P&S cameras need a lot of light. I keep the ISO set at 64.

The only thing I do not like is the shutter delay. For stills, this is not a problem

The reviews are damning. After using Olympus Camedia whose lens cover tended to stick and didn't give me the quality of macro photography I wanted from a pocket digital, I purchased Pentax E10. Yes it is slow but it fits in a handbag and I've had ...

Mostly red images -see above ; slow ; Manual limited only basic features explained ; Had to puchase memory card reader to be compatable with MacBook

this was my first digicam, and i was stupid enough to trust the well known pentax name to guide my purchase decision. no matter what option settings you use, the images this camera produces are always either sharp but overly bright, or totally noisy...

atrocious image quality ; 5 second wait until a picture is actually taken after you have pressed the button

I wanted a smaller camera than my Canon A60, bought this one several years back. A big mistake, this is a vey bad camera. Today i took about 30 pictures outside. 90% came out blurry / not sharp.

This camera takes really bad pictures most of them are blurry / not sharp

I bought this camera on vacation for a day-trip to a place where if it got trashed it wouldn't matter much and I didn't want to risk my "regular" gear. I chose Pentax because it always had a reliable lens, and that's to me the key. Plus for the price...

Shutter lag - yes ; Instructions "sparse ; Reliability: NONE ; Customer Service: The Slowski turtles are faster

Bad camera! With so many small and cheap point-and-shoots to choose from this is not the one to go for. I own a d70 with many lenses and a little samsung s500 point and shoot. I bought the E10 for my mum as a little camera since it was cheap and...

severe shutter lag reminiscent of early digital point and shoots ; very noisy pictures ; bad colour and poor lighting ; For the same money there are much better alternatives around
