Pentax Optio W20

How do you define a perfect vacation camera? The things I would look out for would be compact size, fun features, sharp results with bright/vivid colors, easy connectivity and a good amount of resistance to rough weather conditions. We find out if the...

Pentax Optio W20 comes at an MRP of Rs. 18,500, but the street price is lower by a couple of thousands. Either way, the W20 works great whether in and out of water. It's not only good for people who like to go swimming, scuba diving, etc. but also...

I bought my W20 in December, and played with it a bit at the beach (west coast of Canada) to get used to the colour and settings. I was not particularly thrilled with the interface (maybe I'm just spoiled since I owned a Nikon previously). Pictures...

Owned this camera for 4 months now. It is really easy to use, point and click as advertised. In this mode it gives acceptable results, though foucing in low light is difficult. Picture quality is acceptable, and my suggestion is to lock the auto ISO at...

LCD scratches easily. I have already 3 large scrateches on mine simply from wiping of dirt ; Lens cover would be really useful too. I don't understand why they ommitted it

Ease of use and features have made this my "go-everywhere" camera. It rides very nicely in my shirt pocket, even more comfortably than some cameras that are smaller and lighter (e.g., my Contax i4R). Its water-proof design allows me to not worry about...

Bought the W20 to complement by Canon 20D. It's a lot of FUN, in and out of the water, and the camera is always there (remember Photo Rule #1) because it fits in your pocket! I took it on vacation in Mexico, including snorkeling. We took everything...

It is slow to power-up, but I suspect can be left on like the 20D, as long as the viewer is powered off ; The ON/OFF button can be missed ; Clicking in video finally solved, put focus in PAN FOCUS mode (thanks to DPReview forum)

Great clarity, small & lightweight. Easy to use. UNDERWATER!

Blurs in low light, fish that are close tend to blur.

This is a really excellent camera. I have owned Optio 33WR, 43 WR, and now the W20. The intervening models deleted some features that I use and need, but they were restored on the W20. I use it for general carry-around outdoors photos and particularly...

Product Specifications

The Optio W20 is the latest model in the PENTAX Optio W series of cameras that are waterproofed for underwater photography without requiring a waterproof case or other accessories. This model features a new Shake Reduction mode, which allows you take sharper photos without camera shake or subject blurring even of low-light scenes or fast-moving subjects, and an upgrade to a 7.0-effective-megapixel. All told, this camera boasts better image quality in a fun, easy-to-handle package.
