Digital Cameras - Ricoh Caplio RR1 Digital Camera Review, Information, Specifications

Well, I really need to do a bit more testing to have the full story on the RR-1, which will hopefully happen after I get back from Comdex. The little bit that I played with it though, left me impressed with its good image quality. It has bright,...

Ricoh's latest digicam product actually takes them back to a device with more purely "camera" functions, with none of the exotic communication or PDA capabilities of some of their recent devices. Rather, the Caplio RR1 is a straightforward (if...

The 4 Megapixel digital camera field is a crowded one. Where does the RR1 fit in? Find out now..

Excellent bundle ; Great macro feature ; Decent amount of manual controls ; Very good photo quality outdoors ; Impressive movie mode ; Doubles as a personal voice recorder

Shadows are noisy in sample images ; Shutter lag can be long ; No real aperture and shutter speed controls, despite other manual controls ; Lackluster battery life ; Image transfer software leaves much to be desired ; Not a fan of the layout of...

The Ricoh Caplio RR1 is sort of a mixed bag in my opinion. It's a real multipurpose camera (doing stills, video, and audio), takes good pictures in most situations, has a superb macro mode, and has a decent amount of manual controls. The included...

I purchased the RR1 six months ago after tracking down the seemingly last one available in Melbourne, Australia. I initially thought it expensive compared to other 4megapixel camera (I paid Aus$1200), but having said that, I am most impressed with it....

There are three areas to comment on ; a) The battery, which cannot be charged while in the camera ( I would have much preferred this to having to carry around a charger) ; b) The shutter speed, which is really slow (If you remain aware of this it's...

RR1 is very handy. Have Excellent macro and text features. Good automatic exposure in day light and automatic white balance. The recorded voice is bad if played using on-board speeker or audio output (it is no problem - I bought Caplio as digital...

Please : read to the end. Because myself I'm surprised.... After one year of RR-1..... I posted two pics in the photo section. (See RR-1 ) It is picture N° 2443 and N° 2448 I took with this camera. I know this is not much... but my "little jewel"...

I have always used an SLR before now, but after using the Caplio RR1 I shall be putting the SLR away. Magnificent photos! Macro facility wonderful. I have many old colour slides and was thinking of buying a slide scanner, but decided to try a light box...

Should have an automatic lens cover as fingerprints can be a problem ; Slowness of transfer via the camera to computer ; Slowness of photos appearing on screen ; Battery life

I have had this camera for about a week now and I have just about figured out all its features. There is an awful lot to get through and the manual is over 100 pages. Having said that the benefits of spending time getting to know the camera have paid...

Initially I had difficulty getting good photos of my children from the camera. I obtained advice form the shop where I bought it as I am a novice photographer. The problem was that the defaults on the camera were set to flash off which sets a slow...
