I bought a new Samsung SL201 digital camera. This is an excellent camera! And possibly represents the most bang-for-the-buck of any digital camera on the market today! I love mine. Because I have not owned it for long, I must restrain my comments only...

Additional observations ; The camera is nice and small, and in the past, other cameras I have owned eventually suffered cosmetically form dented corners. It would seem prudent to encase this camera (or all cameras for that matter) in a rubber...

Cheap monitor, mediocre image quality.

 

I'm using one of these at home. It's definitely one of the cheaper monitors out there, but the image quality it displays can be dissapointing.

The compact 2-megapixel Digimax 201 is supported by 8 MB of internal memory, and upgradeable through an SD/MMC card, so you won't have to worry about running out of memory when you need it most. The Digimax 201 also has a 2 x digital zoom to get you close to your subject and preview and review is instant on the camera's color TFT LCD monitor. Three focusing modes for even greater variety include "Portrait", "Normal" and "Macro". Five Flash modes make it possible for you to choose the best way to illuminate your subject, depending on shooting conditions. Other useful features such as the programmable exposure and five white balance modes help you achieve great results. You can also capture moments in motion with the Digimax 201's onboard movie clip facility which is only limited to how much memory is available. Image play-back on the camera's TFT LCD monitor or an external monitor can be displayed as either single images, thumbnails, a slide-show or movie clip. Download is fast and easy via USB and there is also a helpful and useful software package for further creative manipulation.
