Samsung Digimax S500

A can't-go-wrong camera for the digital photo novice.

Consumer review by:

Very Satisfied.Professional Quality Images

I like its ergonomic design, and I like that the flash doesn't burn my finger when I'm filtering it with my hand.It feels sturdier than others of its size.I only got it about 4 months ago so I'm still learning it,and I am more experienced shooting film...

This camera performed excellent in near-blizzard conditions at the shore.Decent contrast and effects even with snow everywhere and glow of Christmas lights.Accurate depiction of color indoors and out..Sand and temp fluctuations don't phase it

Not the cameras fault, but I never got a user manual so I haven't gotten to experiment with the menu.I just put memorycard in my computer and delete or edit etc from there

My first digital camera. O.K. I guess.

For some strange reason, on my first vacation in 8 years, the camera inexpicably erased at least 25 pictures. Then the next day, 4 came back. What's that all about?????

It took pretty good pictures

Handbook was not very helpful when trying to understand all the features. That made it even harder for a novice like me

Don't get this camera!

I got this cam as a gift a few years ago. I have dropped it multiple times and used it constantly for years. It still works. But, I've secretly wanted a better camera all that time (because the Digimax S500 really stinks!) I hope to get a Coolpix S60...

Durable, takes decent close-up pictures, has special effects, easy to take out batteries and SD card, record feature

Terrible battery life, zoomed-in pictures are blurry, hard to use

Not the best, seems good, then turns on you later on.

Overall, camera seems fine when you first get it. Then once you've had it for a couple of months, I just wanted to throw the thing against the wall. So many things wrong with the camera. Horrible indoor picture quality, muted zoom, blurry night...

not much to like about the camera. Takes good outide photos. And the children button works well

There's much to not like. Takes horrible inside pictures. Night pictures are always blurry, even if using night button. Muted when zooming in videos. Takes about 12 pictures until the batteries die. Not worth its value at all

Samsung S500

I've owned this camera from a year now. Loved it, loved it, loved it. Mine's some-what messed up because it's had some where-and-tear. So i just bought the Samsung L73. Love it too. Samsung is a really good company. "Bad QUality" Try changing size of...

Nice Point and Shoot, Good Quality

Muted Video Zoom, Battery Life

Was alright, then just quit working.

Well, I was giving the Digimax S500 for my past Birthday. I thought it was pretty cool, I mean it took pictures. The quality was OKAY, but they were too amazing. I had the camera for a few months, then it just quit working. I figured, maybe I just got...

Horrible videos

The videos taken are horrible. It has a totally washed out bluish tint. When you zoom, the audio does not record. The photos are also very average.

Price of camera

Videos horrible, photos very arvv

Good indoor shooter.

I just bought this camera for my brother and tried it out. My 5 mega-pixel kodak blows this out of the water. Cnet was right with saying the image quality was bad. It has blurry photos on the outside shots I took in full sunlight. Also the whole menu...

Nice color, nice body design

Blurry photos, looks like 4mp not 5mp

Two months and the S500 R.I.P.

While this camera looks hot on the shelf,it functions best staying on the shelf. I bought the S500 two months ago, used it three or four times, and then one day the zoom lens gets stuck in the extended position and would not turn off. The next day, it...

Very Big Screen, Funny movie Mode

Slow start up time, Drains AA batteries fast.. and breaks
