Samsung Digimax L60

Part of the Samsung's "Prestige line", the Digimax L60 is a user-friendly 6-megapixel model that offers advanced features, like a 3x optical zoom SHD lens and 2.4-inch color LCD display, all packed in a stylish and durable metal alloy body.

Bottom line - the Samsung Digimax L60 is a tempting model in the 6-megapixel compact consumer digicam category. Other than the issues we saw with one of our subjects, it offers good image quality, performance, and versatility, all at a reasonable price...

best camera I have ever used. way better than sony

I loved this camera, but unfortuanatley i lost it ]: so i got a samsung nv3 which is amazing, but I would for some odd reason, prefer my samsung l60. This camera is seriously amazing and i really do think it is one of the best cameras around. All my...

I love the quality of the pictures and the colors you may intact to each photo. I also love the frames and how easy it is to use this camera. I also love the voicerecording on the camera. veryy useful

the only thing that ticced me off was the fact that the part where you put the strap through broke off. i also dislike the fact that its tremendously bad to record videos when you are at a concert because the audio is painful to listen too

Good idea falls short

I bought this camera with high hopes as it was relacing an older Casio digital that had given me great service for about 4 years. Samsung makes some really great products including flat panel LCD tv's so I thought I was getting quality.

Size, easy to use, good sound with video

Hard to find menu items, problems with functionality, blurry picture quality

Above average pocketable camera - Recommended

I took a chance on this little camera after reading reviews on CNET and at Steve's Digicams. It is every bit as good as the Canon Digital Elph I had previously (the Canon died of the E18 error), but almost 100 dollars cheaper.

Above average photo quality for it's class, MPEG4 video, good battery life

Same as all other ultracompacts in it's class

Very cool camera

First off, you must use the 4 megapixel mode. not the 5mp. the 5mp mode has a bug and photos are terrible.. who knows.. and guess what.. who cares. surprise!!! megapixels means nothing. This camera takes incredible pictures. I have owned many cameras ...

Pics, small video size, voice recording, very good looking high ISO photos

Video sound (muffled low quality), audio sync, white balance bug (no fix)

Everything so far.

I haven't found one yet, only got it yesterday.

Fun, but little useful for good pics

Ok, I got this camera and the very next day I RETURNED IT.

Tons of gadgets, nice and solid design, MPEG-4 video (curiously, sound goes off when zooming while recording video - I guess that's because the lens mechanism is really noisy AND slow)

Bad quality pics, especially in low-light shots (purple fringing). Battery takes hours to charge.

Samsung Digimax L60 review

If you can get past the occasional purple halo in your photos and don't need to shoot in bursts, the Samsung Digimax L60 is a solid point-and-shoot camera

Decent pictures ; Offers lots of ways to tweak images

Heavy purple fringing in images ; Slow burst mode

The Samsung Digimax L60 is a solid point-and-shoot camera with a handful of image settings and good performance. Despite some purple fringing, the camera's images are crisp, detailed and fairly noise-free. Unfortunately, its burst mode is slower than...

Product Specifications

Part of the Prestige line featuring sleek designs and user-friendly advanced features, the L60 features a 3x optical zoom SHD lens, a 5x digital zoom and a large, 2.4-inch color LCD display. The Digimax L60 offers MPEG-4, the high-compression, high-quality video format that can record for up to 3-4 times longer than traditional video formats commonly used in other digital cameras. The L60 can record in VGA (640x480) at 30fps, for smoother video and a bigger view of the movie on LCD and TV screens. For steady recording, the built-in movie stabilization will automatically detect and correct lateral and vertical camera movement caused by the shooter's unsteady hand. Users can also take advantage of the camera's unique movie shooting functions, including a movie stabilizer, continuous video recording, improved in-camera video editing and the ability to use the 3x optical zoom while recording. Movie stabilizer helps reduce camera shake by automatic detection and correction of lateral and vertical camera vibrations, while continuous video recording allows the shooter to pause and resume video recording at any time and merge multiple video files into one single file. Users can also save a selected part of a movie clip into a new file during playback and capture a still image during video playback. The L60 features several special effects functions for creative control in-camera, such as Color Effect, Highlight, Photo Frame, Negative and Composite Shot. Color effects include B/W, sepia, blue, green and red. For shooting fast-moving subjects, the L60 includes Continuous Shooting mode and Auto Exposure Bracketing (AEB), a feature that will shoot a series of images with slightly varying exposures.
