Samsung EX2F Review

As one of Samsung's flagship point-and-shoot cameras, the EX2F is nicely styled shooter that offers plenty of user-adjustable controls. It also sports an amazing fast-aperture lens, large sensor, beautiful display, and great use of Wi-Fi. It can't...

Fast, bright F/1.4 lens ; Beautiful AMOLED display ; Useful “help” menus ; Excellent Wi-Fi

Slow zoom ; Short focal range ; Photos can sometimes be overexposed

The EX2F, at the end of the day, is still a point-and-shoot, but a very good one.

Samsung EX2F

The EX2F ($499.99 direct) is Samsung's top-end point-and-shoot camera. It's bigger than your average point-and-shoot, but packs a fast f/1.4 aperture lens and an impressive swiveling OLED display—and you can push your photos directly to Facebook or to...

Fast lens. Top-notch Wi-Fi implementation. Sharp, adjustable OLED display. Hot shoe. Raw shooting support

Pricey. No EVF option. Limited (3.3x) zoom range

The high-end Samsung EX2F point-and-shoot offers up fast lens, a swiveling OLED display, and excellent integrated Wi-Fi.

Samsung Smart Camera EX2F

The "Smart" EX2F camera from Samsung provides the tactile experience DSLR users cherish, but fails to fully deliver on the software features.

Tactile dials make the EX2F’s manual settings easy to dive into. Smart auto setting does a good job of reading the scene. The f/1.4 lens allows for nice shallow depth of field. 12-megapixel sensor captures good-looking photos

Not-so-smart editing and export — I’d often simply re-take photos with my iPhone so I could edit them in Snapseed and upload them to Facebook with a caption. I’d be willing to compromise image quality for a more integrated, quicker editing and...

Samsung EX2F Review

The Samsung EX2F is a new 12 megapixel compact camera aimed at serious photographers. The pocketable EX2F features a large 1/1.7” CCD sensor, bright f/1.4 lens with a 3.3x focal range of 24-80mm, wi-fi connectivity and a 3 inch swivelling AMOLED...

The Samsung EX2F is a solid upgrade of the EX1, but 2 years is a long time in the world of digital cameras and the EX2F doesn\'t quite offer enough to keep up with the competition, despite featuring the world\'s fastest lens on any compact.

Samsung EX2F Review: Retro Street Shooter

My photographic heroes have always been "straight shooters" - documentary, street/candid, Natural/Available Light, and environmental portrait photographers. Famous straight-shooters used compact Leica 35mm rangefinder cameras to capture many of the...

Excellent Schneider zoom with a fast f/1.4 maximum aperture ; Intuitive control layout ; Very impressive noise mangement ; Decent battery life ; Easily usable by both beginners and advanced shooters

Battery charges in the camera ; Would prefer a little more zoom

Samsung cameras often provide better performance than their competition at the same price point and that's the case with the EX2F. After carrying this nifty little digital camera with me just about everywhere I've gone for the last few weeks the EX2F...

Samsung EX2F WiFi Camera Review

We don't normally review cameras here on TDL but at CES I was impressed with Samsung's range of cameras so I arranged to review the Samsung EX2F Smart Camera. The EX2F is a Wi-Fi enabled smart camera with a F1.4 lens. The idea behind the compact camera...

Overall the EX2F is a great if you want a small lightweight compact camera that can easily share without needing a PC to be able to do it. At CES I looked at the new Samsung Galaxy Camera which runs Android and I think these add another level to the...

Samsung EX2F Digital Camera

Over the course of the last year quite a few digital cameras have passed through my test bench. Some have been simple point-and-shoot models, where as others have been more advanced compact and CSC cameras aimed at being suitable, but smaller sized...

Superb performance ; HD 1080p video with stereo sound ; RAW image support ; Hot shoe for external flash support ; Great control design with the dual dials on top and the extra roller toggle on the front. Makes all camera functions quick and easy to...

Slow optical zoom speed ; I'd like to see more than just 3.3x optical zoom ; View the discussion comments powered by DISQUSback to top ; Start ; Prev ; 1 ; 2 ; 3 ; 4 ; 5 ; 6 ; 7 ; 8 ; Next ; End ; Read our reviews of the best tablets on...

The EX2F goes for about $500 USD which is still cheaper than most entry level SLR or CSC cameras. As far as compact cameras go, the EX2F gave me the cloest feel to operating a CSC/SLR camera as I've ever had in this segment of cameras; it was a very...

Samsung EX2F

A scientific, in-depth analysis with side-by-side comparisons

The f/1.4 lens is great in low light with smooth bokeh; Autofocus was snappy and accurate enough to cope with shallow depth of field; Redesigned body has greatly improved grip over TL500

549 debut street price places it in very competitive territory

The Samsung EX2F, the follow-up to last year’s Samsung TL500, features an interesting combination of technologies that should make it a great low light camera. Its large aperture maxes out at f/1.4, which is about a full stop than most of its...

Samsung EX2f

Samsung has finally released an update to the very good TL500/EX1 we reviewed way back in January 2011. The new camera, dubbed the EX2f, pushes the limits of functional compact even further with an f1.4-2.7 3.3x zoom lens. This is the first advanced...
