Samsung NV100HD

True to the series, the NV100HD is also an ultra portable. This time around, Samsung has gotten rid of the touch sensitive buttons that we've seen in their previous cameras in the series, only to be replaced by a bigger, brighter, touch-sensitive...

I can't help but feel that the NV100HD falls short on the standards set by its predecessors. Though it's specs are more than impressive on paper, in actuality — both in touchscreen navigation as well as the camera's overall performance, it does...

Samsung NV100HD Review

The Samsung NV100HD (also known as the TL34HD in North America) is the new range-topping model in Samsung's stylish NV compact camera series. As the initials 'HD' suggest, the NV100HD joins a small but growing number of cameras offering a High...

While the Samsung NV100HD's retro looks and slightly fiddly touch screen operation may attract and repulse in equal numbers, its solidly constructed feel and reasonably well exposed images straight out of the camera should mean there's little in the...

Samsung NV100 HD review

It looks the part, but is the NV100 HD's beauty only skin deep?

Attractive design ; Handles well in low light

Prorietary connector ; Noisy images ; Aggressive rocessing ; Difficult to hold

Samsung NV 100 HD

Clearly trying to stand out from the crowd of 10-megapixel, 3x optical zoom compacts flooding the market at the moment, Samsung has gone to extra effo...

Touch screen works quite well, 14.7-megapixel sensor, quite speedy at times

High levels of chromatic aberration, some blotchiness, occasional menu slowdown

A good, high-end compact camera, the Samsung NV 100 HD has a few image quality issues but they can be overlooked. The manual shooting modes combined with the touch-screen interface will be enough to attract some users. Its price tag is perhaps a little...

Samsung NV100HD

With 14.7 megapixels, touch screen and HD video recording, this thing should be awesome, right?

The NV100HD has an immensely ambitious specification, as though the designers knew that it would be the last of the series, and decided to throw in every idea they'd got left. It has a big 14.7-megapixel 1/1.72-inch CCD sensor, a 3.6x zoom...

Samsung NV100HD review

A beautiful, touch-sensitive screen is the icing on the cake for the feature-packed Samsung NV100HD point-and-shoot camera.

The Samsung NV100HD has a sturdy metal body that comes in your choice of all-black, silver and black, or an eye-catching silver and red. The touchscreen controls make it a good choice for anyone who wants to adjust quickly for each shot. It's also a...

Samsung NV100HD review

As long as you don't set too much store by the 14.7 million pixels and HD movie mode, you will not be disappointed by the NV100HD. It looks great, handles well and has enough technology to impress even your geekiest mates. With super-fast AF and great...

Wideangle zoom ; Smart design ; Improved interface ; Colour rendition

Noise reduction ; Jerky video

The touch-screen interface can be a bit of a pain, too. It's all right if you've got delicate little fingers and a patient disposition, but fat-thumbed fumblers will find it's a bit slow, vague and error-prone

Review: Samsung NV100HD

This point-and-shoot is rich in features but its image quality can't match its competitors.

28mm wide-angle lens; stylish design; HD-video-recording capability; fast-performing High-Speed burst mode; touchscreen operation

Noisy images above ISO 200; inconsistent autofocus; awkward positioning of popup flash

The NV100HD is probably the only touchscreen 14.7-megapixel camera with HD video capture on the market right now, so those are its unique selling prepositions which distance it from its competition, namely the Nikon Coolpix S710 and Canon Digital IXUS...

Samsung NV100HD

The Samsung NV100HD - with its HD movie and other features for a mere 170 - sounds like amazing value. But are there any catches? The What Digital Camera Samsung NV100HD review reveals all...

Style, performance, features

Image quality, noise, shadow detail

The Samsung NV100HD could have been a great camera. It has a striking but practical design, solid build quality, a decent lens, a good range of features and excellent performance. The autofocus system is excellent, and the HD video mode is a nice...

Samsung NV100HD – Review – 28

Samsung would like its NV100HD known as the “world's highest 14.7 megapixel 28mm wide angle digital camera”. But I'll remember it for the touchscreen, or Smart Touch 2.0 User Interface in Samsung-speak.

Touch controls ; Versatile and well thought out ; Useful zoom range

Noisy at higher ISO settings

The NV100HD fits easily in a shirt pocket, takes good photos, can be used as a pure point-and-shoot, under manual control or almost anywhere in between. Its touch controls are excellent. The camera is well made and easy to use.
