Samsung Preston (S5603)

By Joseph Hanlon (asia.cnet.com)

At this low price we can live without the bells and whistles of the more expensive phones, but we can't recommend a phone with poor call quality.

Fantastic touchscreen display ; decent performance ; makes a good media player

Poor call quality ; no 3.5mm headphone socket ; no memory card included

Names aside, the Preston is a phone with a compelling sales pitch attached. With full touchscreen input and an US$384 price tag, the Preston stands out amongst its brethren in the Icon range as the cheapest, if the lowliest in the specs department

Good form factor

By dghkchan (asia.cnet.com)

perhaps i haven got the hang of touchscreens

By youtwitface (asia.cnet.com)

my first touchscreen phone. but, i think i still prefer normal ones. Preston should be for non-fussy users. No doubt the internet speed was okay, but lack of wi-fi is what brings it down.

cool interface, music player is okay

difficult to slide vertically, a bit too touch sensitive
