Samsung WB2000 Digital Camera

About a year ago, I had the opportunity to pickup a Samsung WB1000 digital camera for a great deal - so I did. Before that I only had a large Canon DSLR, which isn't convenient to travel with, and another dated Canon compact digital camera (which...

Upgraded sensor over the WB1000 produces excellent quality photos ; HD 1080p video recording ; Simultaneous Dual-capture HD video and photograph mode ; Sleek and compact design with stylish battery/memory gauges on top ; Innovative new modes like high...

No manual focus for video ; Pricing may put it out of reach of many, or sway people more towards an SLR or CSC style camera ; View the discussion thread.blog comments powered by DISQUSback to top ; Start ; Prev ; 1 ; 2 ; 3 ; 4 ; 5 ; 6 ; 7 ; 8 ; Next ;...

Running for a Canadian MSRP of around $299, the WB2000 undoubtedly falls into the category of higher end compact point and shoots. When I first got my WB1000, as I mentioned earlier in this review, it became an important sidekick with me alongside my...

Samsung WB2000 compact camera

The Samsung WB2000 digital camera is an interesting model to consider. It's a compact camera with manual features, but what stands out most is the ret...

Manual and semi-automatic modes, high-speed video mode, f/2.4 lens, smart filters

Controls could be better, colours look too harsh, noticeable softness at the edges of photos

The Samsung WB2000 has some unique features that make it stand out in a crowded compact camera market, but it's by no means a perfect camera. Its colours could stand to be more vibrant and natural and its overall image clarity could be better, and some...

Samsung WB2000 review

It would be easy to mistakenly dismiss this new 10-effective-megapixel, 5x optical zoom (24-120mm equivalent in 25mm terms) model from Samsung as “just another” premium priced compact, and indeed it has arrived with a distinct lack of trumpets blaring.

RAW and JPEG capture, superb AMOLED rear screen provides life-like images, quiet zoom operation plus zoom accessible in movie mode, fast to focus and respond generally

Expensive if going by manufacturer’s asking price, poor battery life, noticeably noisy images at highest ISO settings and when shooting in lower light

Samsung has packed a lot in to this initially unassuming point and shoot, but it commands a slight premium as a result. The extra outlay can be partly justified by the brighter AMOLED screen, RAW and JPEG capture options, plus neat functionality;...

Samsung WB2000

Samsung's latest advanced compact has full HD video.

Outstanding image quality ; Good autofocus ; Superb 3-inch preview LCD

A little expensive

Although the Samsung WB2000 is expensive it can certainly deliver the goods, with outstanding image quality and creative versatility, and among of the best high-ISO performance in its class. Build quality is excellent, the AMOLED monitor is superb,...

Samsung WB2000 review

The Samsung WB2000 may resemble just another point-and-shoot compact camera at first glance, but its AMOLED screen, fast writing speeds, intuitive operation, raw-file support and rugged build quality mark it out as slightly more than run of the mill.

Stunningly sharp AMOLED screen ; Quiet zoom operation ; Fast focus and response times ; Captures both raw and JPEG files

Unremarkable battery life ; Noisy images at highest ISO settings ; Pricier than your average snapshot model

The Samsung WB2000 is a mid-priced competitor to the likes of the Sony Cyber-shot DSC-TX7 and Fujifilm FinePix F300EXR. It doesn't offer the style of those models, but it's easy to use and is capable of delivering decent results. It's a shame the...

A slim, lightweight digicam with a 5x zoom lens, advanced controls, raw file support and Full HD video recording.Unveiled at the PMA International show in February, Samsung's WB2000 is targeted at photographers who want a slimline digicam with a full...

Like the Samsung EX1, the WB2000 we reviewed turned out to be a mixed bag in the performance stakes. The autofocusing system was equally patchy and metering was frequently off-the-mark in test shots. Blown-our highlights were as frequent as we found...
