Sony Cyber-shot DSC-G3

Like other Sony touch-screen cameras, the 10.1-megapixel Sony Cyber-shot DSC-G3 looks gorgeous, takes beautiful photos, and features an intuitive interface. What's more, tightly integrated Wi-Fi and a built-in Web browser let you upload pictures and...

Sharp images. Large, high-resolution LCD screen. Intuitive touch-screen interface. Smile Shutter feature can be useful. 4GB of built-in storage

Expensive. Dismal battery life. Although well executed, wireless photo upload to online photo sites is painfully slow. Camera records only standard-definition video. Touch-screen buttons in Web browser are less responsive than in the rest of the UI....

The pricey Sony Cyber-shot DSC-G3 takes excellent pictures and represents a major step forward in the evolution of Wi-Fi-enabled cameras, but it suffers from poor battery life and slow wireless upload times.

Sony Cyber-shot DSC-G3

The point-and-shoot crowd has been all aflutter about the sleek, 10-megapixel Sony Cyber-shot DSC-G3 ($500 as of 3/16/09) ever since its announcement at CES in January. It's the first camera with a built-in Web browser, "one-touch" Wi-Fi photo uploads,...

Full Web browser and easy Wi-Fi uploads ; 4GB of flash storage; huge touchscreen

Zoom controls difficult to access ; Expensive

The DSC-G3 is an innovative camera with integrated storage and Wi-Fi, but price and some performance issues slow it down.

Sony Cyber-shot DSC-G3

While it might be overstating the case to say the Sony Cyber-shot DSC-G3's Wi-Fi implementation drove me to tears, I can state without hyperbole that it terribly disappointed me. When I was first briefed on the camera, I had high hopes that with its...

Surprisingly speedy; 4GB internal memory

Wi-Fi is slow and difficult to use; touch screen is occasionally nonresponsive; poor battery life

Though it's a decent camera, the Sony Cyber-shot G3's Wi-Fi implementation is a disappointment, and makes the camera overpriced relative to nonwireless models, including its better designed but otherwise similar sibling, the DSC-T700.

Sony Cyber-shot DSC-G3 Digital Camera First Impressions Review

Sony's just introduced Cyber-shot DSC-G3 essentially takes the company's previously released T700, sticks it in a new body, and adds wireless functionality. This means that every advantage and problem that we had with the T700 might still exist, from...

The Sony Cyber-shot DSC-G3 has a number of factors going for it. It's stylish, easy to handle and has an impressive amount of internal memory. It's also blessed with the best Wi-Fi system we've ever encountered on a camera, due to the grace of its...

Sony Cyber-shot DSC-G3 Review

Nobody could accuse Sony of skimping on features for their Cyber-shot DSC-G3.

WiFi and web browser ; 3.5 inch touchscreen ; 4GB internal memory

Shorter battery life ; Noise at mid ISOs ; Hefty price tag

Ideally, ISO should be topped at 200 for the best results but you can get decent prints up to about ISO 800, although you might want to keep them at snapshot sizes of 4x6" or 5x7". Overall, though I was pleased with my test shots, especially the ones...

Sony DSC-G3 Cyber-shot

It's among the first of its kind, but couldn't Sony have made the G3 smudge-proof and smart enough to find Hotspots?

Sony's new DSC-G3 Cyber-shot digital camera is a slim, touchscreen wonder that is as exciting and audacious in concept as it is underwhelming in practice.

Sony Cyber-Shot DSC-G3

One might think that a web browser in a camera is perhaps taking things a little too far when it comes to convergence of devices but there is method to the madness. Previous Wi-Fi attempts in cameras have allowed people to connect to open Wi-Fi...

A brief background of me: I am a 4th year medical student, and purchased the DSC-G3 to replace my current DSC-M1 camera that i've owned for about 4 years. I have been a loyal customer of the Sony Cyber-shot series for the past 9 years.

WIFI is a good idea, Nice Design, 4GB of internal Memory, Takes reliable photos.

Battery drains really fast, Fingerprint hog, Cant upload more than 10 files at once, Uploading ten 10MP photos takes 22 mins over WIFI (at 15mb download, 5mb upload speeds).
