Sony sez no Cyber-shot DSC-T3 for you

This is totally weird given that it's already turned up on SonyStyle.com, but Digital Photography Review says they received an "official note" from Sony that they won't be selling the Cyber-shot DSC-T3, their new five megapixel successor to their...

The quality is plain to see in the hyper-compact Sony Cyber-shot T3, a worthy 5.1 effective Megapixel successor to the award winning Cyber-shot T1, updated with a 2.5-inch Clear Photo LCD, a high-powered Carl Zeiss Vario-Tessar zoom lens and presented...

I like it and use it a lot. We cannot criticize the image quality for such a compat camera and considering when it was launched. I think it's images are pretty good. It's really easy to use and it's cinstruction very good, as I dropped it more than...

Well, batery is not bat but it could last a bit longer... as usually

The good : It's small. Easy to use. Black&White native mode is surprisingly good - especially with a bit of noise reduction applied. The Bad : Shutter lag means it's not the best camera for shooting parties, childern etc. When using the flash, the...

When changing to native B&W, the T3 reverts back to default colour mode ; everytime you review the pics in play mode (using the slider). So after ; reviewing, you have to go back into the menu to go back to B&W

Bottom line, I really enjoyed this camera but even if I hadn't lost it, it was time to upgrade. Construction is pretty solid. I've accidentally dropped it (I'm accident prone) several times from the top of a table to a hard surfaced floor and it...

No view finder -I can do without since I didn't buy this camera to take professional looking photos ; No standard tripod mount- Sony uses it's cradle and a plastic arm that wraps around the camera in order to hook it up to a tripod. Not very...

Product Specifications

This pocketsize T3 camera is Sony's thinnest digital camera to date, measuring in at less than three-quarters of an inch. And due to Sony's Real Imaging Processor circuit, this new model is lightning fast. It shoots bursts of up to four full-resolution images at three frames per second. The T3 camera incorporates a built-in, electrically operated lens cover that opens instantly when the camera is activated. With a single push of the power button, it springs to life in under a second. The camera features a large 2.5-inch LCD viewfinder, occupying roughly two-thirds of the back of the camera. The display's viewing area makes it easy to share images the moment they are captured. The camera is equipped with a Transflective Clear Photo LCD that improves the quality of image display by preventing reflected light from interfering with it. Moreover, the new LCD's higher contrast, brightness and resolution ensure more accurate color reproduction. To keep a slim profile, the T3 camera's Carl Zeiss Vario-Tessar lens operates internally rather than extending beyond the camera's body and its 3X optical zoom ensures great image quality. Equipped with a 0-4X SmartZoom (at VGA resolution), the camera allows you to focus in on the area of interest of your subject by cropping the image size and thus avoiding image degradation. With approximately 180 shots per charge of the camera's Info Lithium battery, you can snap away without fear of running down the charge. With optional Memory Stick PRO Duo cards, the camera captures and plays back high resolution moving images. MPEG-VX Fine mode allows you to record MPEG video with 640x480 pixel resolution at 30 frames per second, up to the capacity of the memory media card being used. The new camera has sophisticated auto-focus and auto-exposure options to help get the picture right the first time. It allows you to choose from nine settings to match the scene - whether it's twilight, portrait, landscape, snow, beach or even fireworks - so it is easy to shoot high-quality images even in challenging lighting conditions. The T3 camera also has a Magnifying Glass mode in which subjects appearing on the LCD screen can be magnified up to 3.3 times. This mode allows you to see and capture details that would otherwise be difficult to confirm with the naked eye.
