Sony Cyber-shot DSC-T500 (Black)

When Sony announced the 10-megapixel Cyber-shot DSC-T500 in August 2008, 720p HD video recording in point-and-shoot cameras wasn't widespread. Now, even though it's popular, the T500 does have some of the best video quality I've seen in an ultracompact...

Good video quality; attractive design; stereo mic; 5x optical zoom with image stabilization for photos and video; includes multioutput dock.

Mediocre photo quality; poor battery life; comparatively expensive.

The Sony Cyber-shot DSC-T500 is a great pocket video camera despite being merely passable at snapshots.

Sony Cyber-shot DSC-T500

If you have $400 to spend on a new Sony digital camera, you have a choice to make: Sony's Cyber-shot DSC-T500 and DSC-T700 (both $399.99 direct) are two solid, 10.1-megapixel shootersbut there are a few key differences between them. The biggest...

Great image quality. Touch-screen menus are quick and responsive. Big 3.5-inch screen. High-def video recording. Includes a camera docking station with HDMI out

Poor battery performance. HD video is very susceptible to shakes and is a bit choppy. Significant shutter lag. A bit pricey

Sony's Cyber-shot DSC-T500 offers a fast and intuitive touch screen, excellent image quality, and HD video, but expect poor battery performance and shutter lag, too.

Sony Cyber-shot DSC-T500 Review

Resembling an old-fashioned cigarette case, courtesy of its silver brushed metal front - 5x Carl Zeiss Vario Tessar zoom lens hidden by slide-open lens cover that stretches the width of its faceplate - the 10.1 effective megapixel Cyber-shot DSC-T500...

The Sony Cyber-shot DSC-T500's image quality is perfectly adequate if not quite awe-inspiring, with inevitably the best results achievable when there is plenty of light around. But if what your camera looks like matters to you as much - or probably...

Sony Cyber-shot T500 Review at DP Interface

All-in-all, the Sony Cyber-shot T500 takes a step forward with more bells-and-whistles (aka fancy features) and 720p recording compared to its predecessors but also a few steps back in other areas like battery life and usability.

Sony Cyber-shot DSC-T500 Review

Sony's latest touch screen ultracompact, the Sony Cyber-shot DSC-T500, takes aim at sophisticated shooters seeking high-quality video capture.

The T500's performance falls off sharply at ISO 1600. Even more so than in the recently reviewed T700, aggressive noise reduction – the kind that earned Sony's small cameras a reputation for performing poorly at higher ISOs – is back in force with this...

August 29, 2008 In the ongoing quest for manufacturers to differentiate their product in the compact digital camera market, the feature sets keep growing and growing and the killer app at IFA this week was undoubtedly high def video in digital cameras....

Sony Cyber-shot DSC-T500

Camera performs well for the HD movie part, beautifull colors, vidid, well balanced, good quality movies.

Batery life is simple 'bad ; Imagine quality in the still mode is less then acceptable. If you want a nice little pocket camera for your HD movies, it's a good buy, don't get it for the DSC part

we have a canon a620 (which takes better pics) and a sony mini dv.; but got this on wifes insistence as she wanted a nice and light camera that can do videos and pics in something one can fit in one's pocket and just pop out anytime. that role this...

all-in-one, good quality video, pics etc in a light package. excellent looks.

sub-par low light/indoor pics & vids. battery life. mp4 needs a bit of researching if u wanna watch on DVD.
