Sony Cyber-shot DSC-T77 review

The Sony Cyber-shot DSC-T77 is roughly the size of a closed flip phone, and its internal 4x zoom lens lets it stay that size even in use. Also, since it sports a touch-screen display with next to no physical controls, it slides into and out of a pants...

Attractive design; useful feature set; fast performance.

Nearly too small; touch screen not for everyone; soft photos.

The Sony Cyber-shot DSC-T77 is a fun, fast ultracompact, but it's almost too tiny for its own good.

Sony Cyber-shot DSC-T77

The Cyber-shot DSC-T77 is a good-looking camera that takes good-looking images. And snapshot fans who like to add effects but don't dabble in Photoshop might like the fun retouch effects, too.

Great image quality, fast operation, luxurious build, thin. Touch-screen menus are quick and responsive. Tons of in-camera editing options.

Strong color fringing. Poor battery performance.

Sony Cyber-Shot DSC-T77 Review

The Cyber-shot DSC-T77 is Sony's slimmest ever camera, measuring just 13.9mm at its thinnest point. Featuring a metal body, a sliding front plate and folded optics, highlights of the T77 include a 10 megapixel sensor, 35-140mm equivalent 4x zoom lens,...

Although some may view the Sony Cyber-shot DSC-T77's slender pocket-friendly dimensions as a boon - and in any other finish than the lime green (or perhaps pink) we were supplied with it's undoubtedly an attractive looking camera - we found its...

So if you need a camera that's as unobtrusive as possible, whilst still providing better image quality than your average mobile phone, and aren't put off by mainly touch screen operation, the Sony Cyber-shot DSC-T77 is worth investigating

Sony Cyber-shot DSC-T77 Review

In a nutshell: the T77 is the thinnest model, the T700 has a big screen and a fancy 4GB photo album, and the T500 has a more powerful lens plus an HD movie mode

Slim, stylish body (comes in 5 colors) contains a 4X zoom lens ; Optical image stabilization ; Good image quality in ideal conditions ; Widescreen 3-inch touchscreen LCD display ; Good performance in most areas ; Lots of point-and-shoot features;...

Noise reduction smudges details, mottles sky at low ISOs; unimpressive high ISO image quality ; Some corner blurriness ; Redeye a problem ; Design annoyances: sliding lens cover, tiny buttons and zoom controller, inability to remove memory card when...

The Cyber-shot DSC-T77 is stylish, feature-packed, and capable of taking good photos when conditions are ideal. However, it's clunky touchscreen interface, heavy noise reduction, and design annoyances make it just "average" in the ultra-compact class....
