Sony Cyber-shot DSC-W230

Given that Sony's Cyber-shot DSC-W230 ($199.99 direct) has the same 12.1-megapixel "Super HAD" CCD image sensor and "Carl Zeiss" premium lens as the $299 Cyber-shot DSC-T90, you'd expect them to produce pictures of identical quality. But that's not the...

Large LCD. Low noise up to ISO 800. Fast. Easy-to-use. Affordable

Major sharpness problems at image edges. LCD shows considerable motion blur

The 12.1-megapixel Sony Cyber-shot DSC-W230's price and features make it very attractive, but its image quality doesn't meet expectations.

Sony Cyber-shot DSC-W230 Point-and-Shoot Review

Excellent 3-inch LCD screen ; Fun UI and slideshow features

Image stabilization not always effective ; Proprietary USB connector

The slick DSC-W230 has a great LCD and neat in-camera features, but its image quality and stabilization could be better.

Review: Sony Cyber-shot DSC-W230 digital camera

This slick Cyber-shot has a great LCD, neat in-camera features, and a wide-angle lens, but image quality and stabilization could be better.

The 12-megapixel DSC-W230 is well-constructed and looks sharp, too. It’s available in four colors: blue, black, red, and silver. Its 4X optical-zoom Carl Zeiss lens offers a 30mm film equivalent on the wide-angle end, with 120mm on the telephoto end

Not worth the risk

Sony did not make these cameras to last and it is not durable. This is not the camera to buy if you want it to last.

it was a great camera, all the right functions, great pictures with a small learning curve

the lens is very fragile. several people say the same the lens comes loose very easy. Costs too much to repair

Sony Cyber-shot DSC-W230

I got the Sony W230 to replace my aging Canon SD-10. I bought the Sony W170 a year ago but quickly returned it after very disappointing pictures due to heavy noise reduction and possible defective sensor. I thought I will not buy a Sony again but never...

None so far except for short battery life on first unit

Not A Bad Camera But Probably Not Worth It

This camera works just fine as compared to most other ones we have used in the price range. Like many of them the shutter speed is kind of slow at times and the red eye filter isn't as amazing as they say. However, I have to say the biggest reason for...
