For a portable tripod this one is versatile and sturdy. Some suggestions to make this a 5 star. Add a leveling bubble, replace the vertical axis swivel arm (it attaches to the panning arm) with a wing screw so one does not have to remove it each time...

solid and light weight

A family member and I was looking for a entry level still camera tripod. We found this one after looking everywhere. I feel safe saying it's lighter and more stable than your average "heavy-duty consumer" tripod.
