Excellent addition to your vehicle.

Excellent addition to your vehicle.

After two years with the product, there are no problems or damages to report. Great quality of video and sound. Item is easy to use and does not take up much space. Price is fair and quality is good.

Nothing but Trouble

Nothing but Trouble

We bought this because its was a good 'value'. After a couple years we are thoroughly frustrated. Shortly after we bought this, we had the same problem others had mentioned. The door does not close tight and the limit switch keeps telling the machine...

good for first year but now worthless

This unit worked really well for about a year. Then it started saying that the DVD door was open while a DVD was playing. It wasn't. It would restart from the beginning only to shut down again with the same message. It kept getting worse and worse...

Faithfully annoying...

We've owned this DVD player set for just over a year. My child is autistic and must spend up to 4 hours at a time in the car getting to & from therapy appointments, so we needed a way to keep him calm in while we're driving. From day one, the player...

Starts out great, then breaks

I was very pleased when we first got this - seemed to be great. It is now 5 months later and it won't play a DVD at all. The disc makes a terrible rattling noise and will only play if I squeeze the unit together (seems to be a common problem). ...

Junk

Bought this from target. Used it twice and and only on trips, so it sat in the closet for most of its life. The next time we used it you only get sound, no picture. Called Audiovox, they wanted 45$ plus shipping to repair it. Buyer Beware!

Piece of crap!

Bought this, started restarting all the time after only a few months. Write to Audiovox multiple times before I get a return email. Tell me I have to download and install a firmware upgrade. I do. It works for three days and then starts doing the...

HORRIBLE!!!!

This was a Target exclusive...horrible design, skipped all the time, I had it rubberbanded together for a while before it just quit altogether. Terrible quality, would never purchase it again. It decided when it wanted to play, and when it did, it...

It's OK, however...

You can still get the XDVD 8180 from sonixelectronics'com for like $310+shipping. I strongly recomend purchasing insurance for any of these(trust me).

In my opinion the XDVD 8180 is way better even if you compare the specs. I had both, and both were stolen from my car. the 8180 has more output power than 8181 or 8182.

Dual 7" In-Dash LCD Monitor w/DVD Player Model XDVD8182

dollar for dollar, this is the best unit you can buy, has options that other high end units do not, screen is not up to pioneer and alpine standards, but still quite nice,

Low price, Ipod direct link, 7"" high quality screen, easy to bypass the emergency brake override

Ipod controls are odd, will not charge Ipod when watching videos, would not read CDs after about 8 months, but Dual warranty service was great, provided me a new unit quickly
