The built-in speakers sound very tinny; when transferring photos to the display's internal memory, images aren't automatically resized to the size of the display to reduce file sizes. Music playback controls could be more straightforward.

The 8in, all-black Kodak EX811 is the only digital photo frame we've seen that plays video and audio files.

At £150 the Kodak is well-priced for this kind of product, and its wireless facilities make it a desirable proposition. Is a digital-photo viewer worth £150 to you? If so, the Kodak EX811 is a very good buy.

Kodak's EX811 is a Wi-Fi-enabled digital photo frame that is relatively easy to set up and use. Although its photo quality isn't the best, several compelling features make it worth a look.

Wireless connectivity. 128MB of internal memory. Widescreen. Video and MP3 playback. Automatic on/off timer. Headphone jack. Mini USB port. Excellent remote. Adjustable brightness.

Photo quality could be better. No audio out. Using on-screen keyboard is tedious. Video playback is choppy.

Resonable price for what you get.

Home photo's are not normally taken in widescreen format. You should look for an LCD screen that can directly accomodate the pictures. Most of my photos are 4x3. Many didgital cameras let you set up the size/ratio so it's not a big deal.
