Review: Sony DPF-D80

Stop in at your nearest electronics store this holiday season, browse through their selection of digital picture frames, and you may notice something interesting. Nearly every frame manufacturer wants to talk up all the stuff their latest frames can do...

Great design and build ; Easy to use ; Fantastic 800×600 display ; Simple slideshow device with no useless bloat

No A/V playback ; Price seems a little high

The DPF-D80 is a “one trick pony” among photo frames. If you want a frame that looks good, has a great display, and doesn’t get in the way of showing off your images with useless features or terrible menus, the DPF-D80 is a great choice. Using the D80...

Sony 8-inch Digital Photo Frame (DPF-D80)

If you're looking for excellent image and color quality, but simple and easy-to-use digital photo frame, this product is for you.

Frame looks great as a room decor. Image and color quality are top notch. Easy to navigate menu and image automatic resize to fit the frame

It would be better if Sony could add sound and video playback functions. A little pricey for few functionalities

Sony 8-inch Digital Photo Frame (DPF-D80)

The Sony DPF-D80 is a great digital photo frame if all you want to do is display pictures. The strongest attribute I would have to say is the image quality and the fact that it is 800x600 (4:3) display. The problem with most other digital frames is...

1) Bright and vivid 800x600 display

1) Glossy front attracts fingerprints

"Fed Ex delivered my frame yesterday afternoon. (I'd ordered it online shortly after Christmas, so I got quick service). It almost took longer to open the box & get everything out than it did to figure out how to load it. I have 2 different camera...

Nice looking, remote included, easy to operate

Remote could be bigger ; shiny finish shows fingerprints

"I bought this frame for my wife as a Christmas present. We were both amazed how beautiful the design of the frame is and how crisp the picture is."

Beautiful Design, Crisp Picture Quality

"we just got a DPF-D80 for Christmas. it's only been 2 days but so far it surpasses the old Ceiva frames i've seen by a long shot. very detailed and bright images, like a computer screen. the 4:3 ratio of the 8 inch screen is great. much better than...

great images and style - supports many memory cards

jpg and RAW displays only

Sony DPF-D80 review

The Sony DPF-D80 is an 8in digital photo frame which supports an array of media card options.

We liked the fact that the Sony DPF-D80 frame can handle large image files (up to 100MB) and, incidentally, is equipped to deal with 48-bit colour - whenever that standard hits the mass market, that is. Our only quibbles were with the price, which...

Sony S-Frame DPF-D80 review

High-quality frame offers excellent quality photos in an attractive package

Solid build quality and nice design; excellent picture quality; remote control

Limited feature set and storage; text-based menu system

Luckily, this Sony S-Frame also delivers quality where it counts: with your pictures. Image quality is very good indeed, even if bright reds can look a little unsaturated.
