Viewsonic 7in Digital Photo Frame (DPX704WH)

Widescreen, but way too small.

Auto-rotation, attractive pop-up menu, good video playback, decent display

Poor viewing angles, display is too small, no full-sized USB port, some photo stretching

Viewsonic's 7in photo frame retains the minimal feature set of its 8in counterpart, while opting for a 16:9 widescreen aspect ratio. The result is a decent quality frame that is a little too small.

ViewSonic DPX704WH Digital Photo Frame

The ViewSonic DPX704WH is a slimline digital photo frame that displays photos, but doesn't do much else.

Lightweight and portable ; High resolution

Feels plastic-y ; Power brick gets dangerously hot ; Photos scroll too fast even on slow setting

Conclusion At AU$129 for the 7-inch model, the ViewSonic DPX704WH feels overpriced for what it is, but if you're looking for a simple, no-frills digital photo frame that displays photos and not much else, it's one to consider. Even so, the ViewSonic...

Overall, not a bad gift

New Egg had these items priced very well and I think I got free shipping too, which is great! All in all a decent purchase and Mom called to say she watched the pictures all night on Mother's Day evening.

The amount of internal memory (128 MB), the quality of the screen and the interface made this a wonderful Mother's Day gift for ... well ... my mother. (grin) The remote control is a nice addition too

There is a limit to the number of photos that can exist on the root folder. So, for 300 pictures, I had to create three Pictures folders and drop my photos into one of the three. Also, there is not a random function when showing the pictures ... so...

ViewSonic DPX704WH 7" 7" 800 x 480 Digital Photo frame w/128MB Internal Memory

Apparently you can use it as a card reader, and access the internal memory?, by plugging it into a Windows PC with a mini-USB cable; but the cable isn't included.

I got this for my parents, and the interface is simple enough that they should have no problem using it. It even comes with a little remote! Display looks nice enough, obviously more compressed images won't look great

The quick-start guide in the box doesn't mention what photo/music/video formats the thing is compatible with (though they are listed on the Newegg page and Viewsonic's product page). It is compatible with the files that'll be most common, JPEG, MP3,...

I kinda love it

after playing with the card from my camera for some time, upon returning the card to my camera i was basically told to reformat the card:( I plugged it in to my cpu and noticed several files that didnt belong, removed them-card worked fine in camera...

this thing is great! played every mpeg format-(divx, xvid ect.) movie that i've tried so far :) Bought 8gb sdhc, and now i plan on filling every bay with a card - it takes several types and they show up like hard drives on the browser. I already have 8...

no AM/FM radio - And the instructions are breif to say the least, but at least they're in four languages
