This is one of the Chinese made (even though it says "JAPAN" on it) wide angle converters available under many different labels. In the ranges where it would be most useful (widest setting on the host lens) the barrel distortion is pretty severe, but...

The wide angle is similar to a "fish-eye" (not the desired effect), but remove the wide-angle lens, and you get a GREAT macro lens, and have used it a lot! Worth it for the macro alone.
