Lumix is the digital line of Panasonic cameras. Founded in 1918 in Japan, Panasonic is primarily a consumer and professional electronics manufacture. They have had a working relationship with Leica for years though and the Lumix line of digital SLR cameras mostly all accept Leica lenses. Panasonic has introduced several G-series Lumix models that are based on micro four-thirds sensor technology. This type of camera combines key SLR features—a large image sensor and interchangeable lenses—with the smaller size and weight of a point-and-shoot. Panasonic also offers two L series SLR bodies and some lenses. It has also introduced a G Series camera that accepts a 3D lens to shoot 3D video and photos.
